Got a creative audigy 2 soundcard and an old creative DT2500 5.1 speaker set, however i never have had 5.1 sound out of it :/ was wondering if i need an optical lead for it?if so any ideas where i can get the right one?
Yes and it still doesn't work when i test it the woman's voice only comes out of front 2...i have wired them correctly too but i was wondering if i need a lead for them just like a surround system?
I got 2 wires connected to audigy card which are the front ones(green/black) but the other 3 are connected to the adapter, i didn't get that lead with 3 outputs :/ any idea where i can get one or an optical lead?
that's the one I guess. tried a Y-cable from 3,5mm to the bigger ones (dunno what they're called) ?
the outer left subwoofer port seems to be just an option if you don't want to use the subwoofer that came with the speakers.
have you also tried looking at the windows settings for your speakers? I've got a 7.1 system but for some reason windows occasionally sets it back to a standard stereo speaker setup...
Thanks for your help all especially last poster, that confirmed me what i needed, i found a SPDIF digital lead off a website in the uk for £10 so i guess that's the right one, it says SPDIF digital opitical lead so may aswell give that a go and see.I guess this will work:
