any switch on your subwoofer, like 2.1/4.1/5.1 ?
or a remote control that can switch between an Up-Mix and Surround Mode ?

I'm pretty sure u need either multichan out (using 3 outputs on the soundcard) or optical out to get 5.1 sound.

But if you bought a 5.1 pc speaker set it's realy weird if there wasn't cables in the package for this.

oowwkey, you do have 3 cables connected to your subbie, don't you ?

rear - front - center/sub ?

or for the Audigy, Green - Orange - Black ports should be connected.

DTT2500 back

that's the one I guess. tried a Y-cable from 3,5mm to the bigger ones (dunno what they're called) ?
the outer left subwoofer port seems to be just an option if you don't want to use the subwoofer that came with the speakers.

have you also tried looking at the windows settings for your speakers? I've got a 7.1 system but for some reason windows occasionally sets it back to a standard stereo speaker setup...

Found a much better picture here

U need to either the Dolby digital(ac-3)spdif in or the digital in to get proper 5.1 sound afaik.

Doesn't look right to me :\
That spdif input on the reciever looks more like a coaxial that u have on dvd players etc, so don't think i can help much more :(
