Misc 3D Modelling / Printing

I bought a second hand Corsair 750D for my NAS, more than a year ago. It came without the drive cage plastic supports. Corsair has obviously been of no help, once I said I have no proof of purchase, they stopped answering my emails (I wanted to buy the supports off them, not get them for free).

So then, I decided I would 3D model my own, and figure out the printing part later.



After faffing with some 3D tools, I settled on Fusion 360. This is version ... 18 I believe - Fusion

Dimensions have been reverse engineered based on the hdd cages (which I have), and the model characteristics have been based on the above pictures.

Queried among my bubbles for who owns a 3D printer and could help me print this - and then I find out some people at work have ordered one semi-professional, 8k USD printer, due to arrive next week - https://www.bcn3d.com/documents/BCN3D-Datasheet-Epsilon-W50-EN.pdf


I'm psyched and I have been totally enjoying the creative process - barely scratched the power of the tool (fusion), but I'm learning with each iteration. Below is a simulation of the actual print:



Anyone here dabbling with this? - any input or advice welcome.

Update: Corsair is shipping me the parts 🤦‍♂️.

We'll see how it goes - If time allows, I will still prod along with the test prints.

First print out - fits flush on the drive cage, I got the angles and dimensions right. Two minor issues which I've already corrected for the next print, slight offset for the left front screw hole vs cage hole, and even though in Fusion 360 I declared the hole diameter to be 3 mm, the reality is 1.8 mm. Pushed it to 4 in the new version, it's cooking.

I will still be able to use the first print with minor manual touchups, and the 2nd one will hopefully require no additional work.
