Let's be clear - Elon Musk has clearly nailed his colours to the mast, he is the right, so that's one thing.

Another thing is all the other social media companies to bow down to Trump, yes partially because it's because 'who ever is in power' but it's pretty clear they've got a vested interest of having the party of letting them get on with whatever they want vs the Dems who would probably end up pushing for regulation. I've voted green as a protest vote - A) because none of the other parties took the environment seriously and B) because increasing the green agenda (environmentally speaking) is a way to make them look over their shoulder. But they've never been close to becoming a popular movement.

The guy who built my mahoosive 9m x 5m oak framed shed is a Romanian who moved to the UK 20 years ago. Lovely bloke (and I can recommend him). He runs a oak framing company, all the guys who do the work are in Romania, he sources the wood from Romania. He rents space on articulated lorries to get the wood moved into the UK cheaply.

He's less than half the price of a UK company doing exactly the same job. He's going back to Romania, where he's built a mansion, in about five years or so. Absolutely minted out there. Doing OK here, but absolutely minted out there.

Meanwhile - the working class brits got absolutely pummeled. Whilst the "middle class earners" did fucking magic.

The English guy was taking the piss by asking me for £17,000 for 2 normal wooden sash windows. And the Poles still live here, they've made a home here, they did a job nobody else wanted to do and did it extremely well. I recommend them to everyone.

This is the problem. There's generational issues that we aren't resolving - we're using immigration as a short-term sticking plaster - and it's absolutely not problem free. We're simply not paying the bill (that much) yet.

Edit: I had a Welsh guy quote me 18k to repoint my house in lime mortar. I found an English guy who did it for 5k. I was quoted 2 grand for replacing 5 tiles on my roof as a temporary patch by an Irish guy, but my (eventual) builder came round and did it for free. When I was living in Nottingham an polish guy quoted us 4.5k to do some internal work to remove an RSJ and brick up an (illegally put) doorway in a house. An english guy did it for a grand.
