1.70R - Font of Power gets nerfed in PVE only..

In an attempt to make PvE more of a pain in the ass, Mythic has seen themselves fit to do:

- Font of Power will no longer affect targets which have been engaged in PvE combat within the last 10 seconds. The Font was having an unbalancing effect on PvE combat. After much discussion and debate, we decided to leave the Font itself alone and make it work without restriction in RVR, and add a small restriction for PVE (rather than reduce its effectiveness or otherwise reduce its usefulness in RvR with an across-the-board change).

Well. Better level your alts before 1.70 arrives because it won't be nearly as easy afterwards in Moderna.

What they mean to say is this...

"We fucked up, we can't admit we fucked up because to do so would mean our customers would lose confidence in us. So we're going to gradually nerf this ability until its about as useful as ten chocolate tea-pots positioned mid-way up the suns rectum. Oh by the way, we've also added another five undocumented Shadowblade, Savage and Beserker nerfs. As per usual we've been listening to our customers. Hey, don't look at us like that its not our fault most of our customers play Albion. Lots of Love, Mythic"

I suppose the only reason they didn't nerf it for RvR is that its a pain in the ass to setup unless your camping an area... Oh the Iorning!

That patch is to prevent farming stationary/cannot bypass boundary mobs mainly.

i think its really good thing.... i actully think mythic have learned something, instead of nerfing the whole ability to make it useless in RvR (i think FoP was meant to help in sieges), they nerf it where it was most overpowered.

This happened shortly after the animists on my server killed the dragon with 7 (they've been farming it since, it wasn't actually "despawned" at all, Mythic lied just for a change) it was either nerf animists... and animists were nerfed last patch, or nerf the power font they used... Mythic as usual, using a katana to shave with.

so u dont think it are fair mythic nerf FoP in PvE? im pretty sure it never had been intended that the dragon should be farmed by 7 persons.
what i got told from way b4 si and toa, u needed atleast 200 to have a chance to kill the dragon if not more.

Animist nerf, theyre the only caster class that cant just sit down and halt combat (fire n forgets) without manually releasing every castable shroom they have (main pet can be set passive).

The realm least effected by this?

Easy, guess.

Just have a Necro (or 2 or 3) lurk at the back on top of the Fop and power transfer as needed.

Would be nice if the other realms had some form of power transfer ability, wouldnt it.

Not only that what also catched my eyes is that t hey totally missed out on giving any Midgard classes unique realm abilities.

Albion and hibernian classes got some that sounded... to much ^^ but midgard got none go figure.

I can hear the bug reports in RvR already

"FoP being interupted by Sorc and Mincer pets, we'll fix this one day, but for now we'll let the forces of Albion annoy you with their many bugs, and find a way for animists to kill epic mobs in 30 seconds next patch, promise."

Hoards of mincers running round getting pets, setting them off into caster groups, releasing them and it counting as PvE, nice one.:kissit:

Midgards still short of a couple of classes compared to its counterparts - giv necro equal with mana transfer!

Hopefully this doesnt effect the healers in the FoP as much only casters in combat, it is pretty crappy though imo :<

Nobody is gonna spend 60RSPs for MCL3/RP3 and FoP nerfed too, woot........

u can bet that any AE spell will kill the FoP´s effect.
root, debuffs, snare then amnesia etc.

The one interupting the most will be more winners then today.

Well shure fop was a very good RA, but what the hell is Bodyguard if not overpowered :eek6: .

So what if people do above averege in PvE with FoP.
why get ML´s if they are not very usefull.

Imo handle the classes that are overpowered instead, that abuse the strenght of the ML. like animists.

Because it is the ones who are less strong who will suffer, like runemasters, and healing classes.

Nice knee jerk reaction to animist+FOP dragon farming.
Heres an idea, remove shrooms from epic mob hit calculations, tadaaaa, apparently its f'ing rocket science being performed by amoeba.

With the new RAs coming in frontiers, POM5 plus Aug acuity and serenity will put PLers back in the spot, Mythic really are not taking the hint, this stems from the animists, which weve seen wipe out the dragon in 7 seconds, who needs FoP when you can do it that fast? Quick MCL and start again, peice of cake.

Suddenly Hib seems to be getting a big "lets get players to that realm boost with over the top abilities", one way of getting ppl to move there i guess.

IMHO nerfing Animists in PvE would have been more fair than nerfing FoP.....


P.S. And here is an hib talking

P.P.S. Animists in RvR are are not overpowered, they are just enough "situational" (no comparison with savages unbalance just to give an example). In PvE they are really weird.

If this is supposed to nerf animists, whats to stop casting max shrooms before pulling the mob? Might not work in all situations but would in most. The offshoot of nerfing FoP in PvE will only be to make rolling alts post-1.70 pure hell, taking twice as long to level and making some ToA encounters near impossible.
