It's not about the sex education in schools, like that article says, those two are the only teenage mothers in that school. Did those girls become pregnant by mistake? No!

In some parts of society, babies are a fashion accessory which young girls just 'have' to have. It's like the cabbagepatch kid craze of the 80's, or barbie dolls, my little ponies etc... the ultimate toy is a real baby, which earns you a weekly allowance and you even an apartment for free! There're too many perks for having a baby in this 'modern' society.

Sex education has nothing on the reality these girls see around them.
Get pregnant, get independance.

The membrane seperating the anal passage from the vagina can be penetrated by semen, or something technical like that. Biology isnt my strong point, but I rmember reading it somehwere, look it up.

But this is all besides the point, forget about the pregnancy implications, STD's alone should be reason enough to wear a condom.

it is actually only £75 a week each, and they have to cloth and feed themsleves, this is what the welfare state is all about, it is supposed to work on average, this is only in the news because its a housefull of people claiming and they each have kids. If you dont buy into the welfare state then you should vote erm, sorry you just shouldnt vote, as all parties agree with state help.

Maybe they are a tad stupid to get pregnant at an early age, maybe the law needs changing so that they have to pay back part or all of the money they get when they are older, but come on, dont slag them off, we support people in this country and it seems like these people need support.

Sorry i know my maths is shit but how did you figure that one out?

For a start it wouldn't surprise me if it was £600 a week EACH. But even if it wasn't. £600 divided by 3 is..... all together now children!! Or the Crazy frog will eat you... or something.

£800 a Month EACH. And they don't have to pay Rent etc etc.

Right wheres the nearest 14 year old slag, im bored of rent.

State help is all very well, but its important that people realise it is there to cushion the blow, not act as an incentive not to contribute.

I have no real idea how you achieve this, but as John Major said "There needs to be a little less understanding, and a little more condemnation"

I'm all for supporting people who've been forced into a situation.

But in some of these cases, people are taking advantage of that support by putting themselves in the situation.

I disagree really. It gets worse every year, not better. And our "do the right thing" way of thinking only exacerbates the situation.

Throddy, read more carefully (or are you just so old that your eyes are giving up? ;) ) Kenneh said nothing will change. I said it will, but only ever for the worse.... let's have a :drink: and put the world to rights sometime :D

although condoms don't protect against all std's (chlymidia, PID [the cause of cervical cancer], Herpes and others can all transmit quite easily even with condoms) and even then aren't 100% protection against anything. Although that said condoms are preferable if people are going to bump uglies at random.

TBH, force the girls to name the fathers, do DNA tests and get the fathers to pay for the anklebiters. If you're prepared to put your todger into a girl and let forth the boys then you should be prepared to pay for the consequences, especially the married man.

Vote Tom!! :)

I'm totally with you on all these points - corporal punishment in schools being the easiest and most important to implement.

Also - if your kid gets up the duff when she's younger than 16 then the parents should be fined. Loads.

A tad stupid?

Lets not beat about the bush here. They're from the sort of families where their brothers will be out stealing cars/getting into fights/mother's cracked up to the eyeballs etc. etc.

I've tried living like a bleeding heart liberal but a few years ago I woke up and realised that it simply doesn't work.

If I had my way nowadays you'd be able to get a licence to shoot these type of retards on sight. They're a fucking cancer on society and contribute nothing but misery and financial drain, to the detriment of decent hard-working people.

Society's got an infection - and if I had one like that I'd get it cut out and landfilled.

society also suffers from a high level of disenfranchisement and deprivation. If people actually read the article one of the girls has got a few of her GCSE's (which is more than a lot of people from deprived areas get) and is going to continue stydying with a view to getting into IT, that isn't the attitude of a scrounger. TBH one of my best friends fell pregnant by accident when she was in her teens and is just about to graduate university (although is getting paid benefits, etc which allow her to live whilst studying) and try to make something of her life...

It's not always a simple situation. I'd struggle to feed 7 people on 30k a year, i have enough trouble staying out of debt earning that much on my own.

Yes, accidents do happen, as with your mate, and I completely agree that the situation is not always simple.

However, the fact of the matter is they fit a stereotype and although it's become fashionable to knock stereotypes they do come from somewhere.

The somewhere they come from is the fact that everywhere you look you see chavs committing crime, getting knocked up, taking drugs etc. etc.

She's taking four GCSE's. Four! And I bet she fails them.

Fuck 'em. A really harsh crackdown would inevitably be unjust on a small minority - but would be positively justified for the vast majority.

And since I get fucked over by Labour for attempting to run a small business I hope that one day they'll get fucked over for being a waste of taxpayers hard-earned and causing misery for thousands of law-abiding, non-chav, nice pleasant people.

I've had enough of that sort. I hope they all burn.....somehow :)

Well they said a three bedroom house. So im assuming the girls live away from the mother in their own house with the kids.

The mother must get other money/job etc.

The news articles seem to make it quite clear that it's the 3 daughters that recieve £600 a week between them, not the 3 daughters and the mother.

Three schoolgirl sisters all with babies have defended living rent-free in a council house on benefits worth more than £30,000 a year.

Julie Atkins and daughters Natasha Williams, now 18, Jade Williams, 15, and Jemma Williams, 14, survive solely on benefits of £600 a week - an annual income of about £31,000.
Nah. The first paragraph is vague, the second paragraph makes it clear.

Seems to be a lot of Sun readers frequenting this forum.

I am a little confused about what people find to be worse: having underage sex or getting pregnant? If you accept that the former is fine then surely you have to accept that the second might happen?

Also, what is worse -- a 12 year old having a baby or the welfare state paying £600 per month to care for the child?

I'd also like to know what crystal ball you gentlemen are using. How do you know that these girls don't look after or love their babies? That all they had in mind was being looked after by the state?

Really all this thread shows that there are more people with shit for brains than three young girls in the news article.

And no, I don't find it acceptable that the mother blames the school system. Sex education and the teaching of morality should start in the home. Teenage girls should not be having sex, they should be learning how to be adults ... but people who scream and shout without knowing the facts, like 99% of the posters in this thread, are just as ignorant as the girls in question.

Personally I find the idea of underage sex worse than the getting pregnant, I can't see what on earth an 12 year old is doing having sex, she's a bloody child for christ sake.

And as for which is worse between a 12 year old havin a kid and the welfare state payin £600 a month to care for it, I find them both fairly unacceptable. As I said before a 12 year old is a child, how can they possibly raise a baby when they haven't even finished growing up? And I don't believe that anyone who can't support a family should ever think about getting pregnant, you want kids then you should be able to support them without resorting to the state.

Maybe the girls do look after and love their babies, maybe they weren't just thinking what they could get off the state but doesn't it strike you as a little odd that all 3 of them managed to "accidentally" get pregnant within months of each other?

When I was at school, if people gave the teachers shit they got whacked with a wooden ruler, or the birch.

They bloody well didn't do it again.

Like I said on another thread a while back - if a teacher smacked my kid, s/he'd regret it.
