This day, i met a mod, who decided that my name was going to be changed

I guess i saw this coming, i made my nightshade, Terrorism, months before the 9/11. But still with all the terrorism there is today, i guess i could not get around it.

From now on my shade will be known as Shadowzone...

but still, is this right of the mod? im paying to play this game and;

terrorism, ie terrorize, is no directly linked to a bombing terrorist, more like

sad to hear m8. But its their game, and if they feel that Terrorism is offensive then it is offensive. I actually wonder why my shaman is still called Sosnotty(long story why it has that name), i would have bet they would have changed that one also.

To be honest, you'd probably not cause offence with Terrorise, but would with Terrorism or Terrorist to some people these days.

Mmm, that definition doesnt look quite right to me, but thats besides the point. Does seem a little daft. Maybe youve pissed on someones chips and theyve reported the name. Some people could find it offensive, there could be people who play who have been victims of terrorism for example, but then, most names are offensive to someone, so where do you draw the line?

Shadowzone aint too bad in any case.

I can see why they'd have you change the name, just to prevent any trouble it might cause, however unlikely, but I don't have the slightest problem with the name, and I believe that anyone with half a brain would think the same. It'd be a different story if you called your character Terrorism NineElevenRocked, or so, tho it'd still be pretty hard to make me care.

Honestly I think its Insane that in a game were we try to kill eachother, u cant call urselfe Terrorism....

i used to have a char called Fokov.

noone noticed untill i chose `AndDie` as second name ... someone whined, it got changed.

agreed there are some silly names out there, but nothing ever offended me to a point i felt the need to whine about it.

Only names i want to see changed are people who called chars `shar`, `brehon`, ...etc cause it is bloody confusing. a name like `standingontheroof WithARocketLauncher` might be `funny/stupid` for a fire wizard but hey.

Sometimes people choose a name that they come to regret (`Neverdies` comes to my mind, he later took the second name `TheLiar`) and which becomes reason to a whole lot of stupid pm`s / emotes. I know people who have quit the game due to a poorly chosen name and the reactions to it:/

In no fan of daft names, I think most people should have at least enough roleplay in them to choose a reasonable fantasy name, however I think theres far far more offensive names around at the moment then terrorism.
