Today i logged my lvl 43 shammy on. Last time i played it, it was called Cunni, as i named it, but this morning its name was Cinnu instead. :eek6:

I guess someone found the name offensive, and hence it has been changed.
Thing is i didnt know this was possible to do this, now i'm the wiser. And so are you.
Thats todays useless info.

GM can change your name if somebody reports it as offensive.

Eye the lastname was Lingus

The bots /played is 2d 17h 29 min. So took a while before someone got offended.

I always wondered how they deal with offensive names that are not English (or a language the GMs speak/understand).
I mean I can report people and say their name means something really rude in a certain language and there would possible be no way for them to check it as most dictionary's don't have any swear words in them.
So basically it would be my word vs the person I am accusing.

Always did find it a shame the name Sloerie McSlet got changed though (Pallie from a long time ago) eventhough somewhat offensive it always brought a smile to my face

Basically if the name is likely to be offensive in any language that's likely to be spoken on the server then we'll investigate it and change it if it is. That means in most European languages including Scandinavian. Mostly if I get a name in a language that no-one in the office speaks (and you'd be amazed at the range we can do between us all), I google it and if I get a lot of NSFW results it gets changed.

no offence Raquel but Cunni Lingus is not in anyway offensive. I think u will find that millions of girls around the world would agree. It isnt discusting or rude it is mearly a natural act. But i do wonder if you had to look it up

What about NPC names ? There is some NPC called "Huj" wich means "Dick" in russian .... what if i get offended .. when I have to talk to a 'dick' ingame ?

And there is also chezh Toilet Pot company called 'Jika', mby ppl will get offended talking to a TOILET?

Find it kinda funny that Requiel has time to read this forum and reply twice to a tread like this, but when they comminity craves information he's and GoA is silent as ever.... funny.

I also got the name of my warrior changed a while back, it was names Zyklon. Guess someone found it offencive as the gas used by the nazi's during ww2 was called the same. I however got the name from a norwegian black metal band. And just by protesting i asked the gm to change my name to "Hydrocyanic" last name is "Acid"... Google that Requiel! :clap:
