So you are still france telecom but moved to a different part and the goa site just accidentally has wanadoo logo on it, and wanadoo in the addy?
Bad luck Ms. asshole, I work in software development bussiness, for a few years I had a regular coloumn in a computer magazine, so I know how selling software should work, you say, in a place visited by goa support staff there is a thread about the stores, and I should look at all fansites, when they know about the thread? I think a publisher is responsible for making sure the game gets to the customer, most publishers work very hard to ensure this. The minimum is, that when GOA knows where you can get the game everywhere in Europe they keep a few englis language links in their reply mail, which is a stock email. It would takealmost 20 minutes.Old.Elewyth said:dude you really need to stop sniffing your doritos as u sit infront of your computer... you didnt search very hard then did you? there was a thread a while ago where people got together and listed over 30-40 online stores from Denmark/sweden/germany/uk and a few others.. they all shipped ANYWHERE in Europe within 7days.. granted with this kind of game you cant just walk into a shop and buy it... but hey guess what? i couldnt find a copy of Everquest in my shops either.. or Ultima Online... or Asherons Call....
No i dont think Goa has a problem... i think you have an attitude that no matter what people tell you.. you gonna whine about GOA no matter what.. people offer solutions to you and all you say is.... not my problem, its GOA, they wont lick my arse.. im the customer and i demand they do everything for me.. well this is the year 2004 not 1904... go out and do some work yourself.. find an online games shipper.. thereare LOTS.. but i guess if you cant be arsed then why should GOA be arsed helping you.
No you cant compare DAoC to any other long established game like UO for example - ppl will continue to play games they know, like I still play CS even though its very outdated now (note, vavle dont have telephone support, but CS is an online game ). And NWN is still a single player game, and anyone can answer questions regarding in game issues, heck I do about DAoC all the time, but the NWN ppl dont log into your PC to sort you out do they, so again piss poor comparison. I can easily tell you are the type of arse that phones an IT helpdesk looking for the "any" key, rather than the one at the other end laughing at the question. Now back to the thread shall we, as youve thrown all perspective out of the window.Esselinithia said:Can I compare the player base with the player base of other games? And your support question complexity with questions you can ask about neverwinter nights? *points to scripting* I stay with daoc because of my friends, and I think this speaks about friends and not about goa. How many people stay for similar reasons?

[GOA]Erivoss said:erm fyi we aren't owned by Wanadoo anymore (hint... look at the logo's on the NF splashscreen....).
Even though they are owned by France Telecom like us, they are a separate company and we have no means of pressure on them. Much like the relationship we have with OpenTransit I might add.
aah out come the insults.. well atleast you proved your nothing but a forum troll... oh and how suprising you worked on a column for a computer magazine.. riiiiiight, go troll somewhere else. you have failed to make a valid point in ANY of your ramblings.. and if thats the standard of your column writing i feel very sprry for all the people who had to listen to your whine on a constant basis..Esselinithia said:Bad luck Ms. asshole, I work in software development bussiness, for a few years I had a regular coloumn in a computer magazine, so I know how selling software should work, you say, in a place visited by goa support staff there is a thread about the stores, and I should look at all fansites, when they know about the thread? Jayce said:LOL I've just seen the logo and its Equant, the company I work for... Also owned by FT I might add, so not a big change
Got any jobs ?
Jayce said:Dude that is just a cop out. You work for GOA, I work for Equant, both are owned by France Telecom and are seperate from Open Transit.
If I had a customer getting shite service and the issue was an OT link or router you can be damned sure I have an escalation route in place, in both companies and Account Managers to harrass to get the job done.
Are you saying you (or even someone at GOA) doesnt ?
[GOA]Erivoss said:Erm I don't actually understand what you're saying....
We've had problems with OT.
We've told OT about these problems.
OT have asked us to provide them with ping plots to isolate problems.
We have provided them with ping plots.
They have fixed some of the nodes/whatever is wrong.
We still have some problems
We've told OT about these problems
They've told us to provide more ping plots to...
...
and so on....
How is that coping out? When I say we have no means of pressure on them that's in reply to: "GOA and OT are both the same company, just go and slap OT into fixing whatever is wrong!"
Well we can't do that, 'cos even if both companies are owned by the same 'big' company, it doesn't mean one has any power over the other. You understand what I'm trying to say?
Thanks muchly for the update.[GOA]Erivoss said:Erm I don't actually understand what you're saying....

One who starts with insults deserves to get it returned how you reacted to it should stand for your own posts as well.Old.Elewyth said:aah out come the insults.. well atleast you proved your nothing but a forum troll... oh and how suprising you worked on a column for a computer magazine.. riiiiiight, go troll somewhere else. you have failed to make a valid point in ANY of your ramblings.. and if thats the standard of your column writing i feel very sprry for all the people who had to listen to your whine on a constant basis..
and yes the point you failed to notice is that if someone wants a game bad enough they will look for it, they dont sit and whine about a company not giving it to them, humans (the vast majority who play online games unlike you) are very resourceful and will find a way to buy something, its not ideal but its the way it is.
oh and as someone on this forum once said if you dont like it fuck off.
Ormorof said:you also have to consider theres alot more players who dont read FH and are perfectly happy with the game
population that read FH is perhaps: 25%
population of FH unhappy with GOA support: 50%
total population unhappy with goa: 12.5%
that makes you the wee minority, like the old saying goes, you can please all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time but you cant please all of the people all of the time
Requiel said:Let's try an analogy for those who don't understand the relationship between France Telecom, Goa and Opentransit.
Let's say that the Internet is a country. France Telecom is the 'government' in a part of that country. Opentransit is the department in charge of the roads (intenet infrastructure) in that part of the country. Goa is a shop.
Our customers come from all over the country to shop at the Goa shop. To do this they have to travel over Opentransit's roads (except for a few locals who can take a local shortcut). If the roads are being dug up then people have problems getting to the Goa shop. Goa happen to be run by the government but they are a small department in the grand scheme of things. We complain about the state of the roads when our customers find it hard to reach us but there is no other provider of roads so we have to wait until they fix it.
But then the idiot reader realised that in France, Opentrashit are the ONLY road builders there, and he suddenly crawled back beneath his rock and never spoke again. He later died of a nasty genitle disorder. The people who had gone to Warcraft all died too, of boredom.scorge said:I like it
Lets take it further
Having tried to reach the GOA shop unsuccessfully due to opentransit road works. A new shop opens up a a differant part fo the country, we will call this shop, the Warcraft shop. Now the Warcraft shop has to use opentransit roads for some people to reach it, although it understands that if for somereason this road becomes blocked people will not be able to buy there goods. So it also uses additional routes for the traffic to reach it should the road be blocked.
The warcraft shop does very well, people can reach the shop to buy the merchandise, The goa shop isn't doing so well, due to the opentransit roads not being good, it has turned into a ghost town as not enough people can reach it.

The End.
old.Whoodoo said:First reason it wont get signed by sain people, you would like them to fund it, wait a frikken minute, you mean "We on the English speaking servers would like from our own pockets and hard earnt cash to fund full time, 24/7 Customer Service". No I wouldnt, Im happy with what I pay and so are 99% of the peeps playing, including a lot of under 16s who dont have uber cash to spend.
The majority of questions do get answered, yes a few slip by, but considering the amount of right idiots who spam Rightnow with "my connection sucks, fix it!" and "my level 20 cant hit a level 50 QQ" or "what colour nail polish goes with my purple pyjamas?", the answers any helpdesk would give WILL be short and to the point. "Its fixed" is more than sufficient, while "stop bothering us with twat questions" would be more appropriate.
most first need to learn the right proceedure, mailign subscriptionATgoaDOTcom and not Rightnow'ing it. Also that FH is not the place to bring greivances.
Its called Rightnow, and again its how you use it, not what answers you get.
Join the VN forums, thats what they do there. GOA do feedback to the US FYI!
This ones really funny, put up with some of the idiots on here, dont make me laugh. Then theres abuse calls, hiring people who speak the 3 (soon 4) languages...this sounds funnier the more I think about it...then you have to hire enough, then youll want 24/7 support, so were talking say 100 more employees, all on say £15k, 3 shift rota, thats an extra £4,500,000 a year, fancy paying the bill, I think not....tell me another funny one...oh here it comes..
/em picks himself off the floor still laughing. What do you really think will be entered onto this, come on, you really expect sensible answers, well thought judgements and opinions or just a bunch of chavs who think its funny to write "GOA are twats" while looking at the bra section of the argos website?!? LOL, I think you misjudge the ideals of the kinds of people who would use it. In life, make a mistake, it sticks and everyone knows it, do something good, its easily forgetten and unrewarded.
Go ahead and sign this, pay more money to GOA, maybe get one of them to loose his job, or maybe GOA will say "sod this you ungrateful bastages!" and close DAoC, oh what heros you are.
[GOA]Erivoss said:Umm that logo is the France Telecom one (very possible it's the same as Equant if it's owned by FT) And yes you are right, being bought out by France Telecom doesn't change much for us (talking about the average GOA employee) but it does change how things get done high up (including how we interact with OpenTransit).
that's 8 more euros per month for me... No thanks not for something I really don't see the need for.Gahn said:2 more Euros for month wont clear any1's pocket, roughly 15k Euro players = 30k Euros/Month = 15 Csrs available full time.
Do some maths before spitting sentences imo.

and an employee costs more than their salary.. infrastructure is a bitch.
