teh article said:Google has told us they are taking this step because they wish to pay significantly less than at present to the writers of the music on which their service relies, despite the massive increase in YouTube viewing.
BBC News said:YouTube, however, cannot be expected to engage in a business in which it loses money every time a music video is played - that is simply not a sustainable business model." he said.
Nah, i don't watch the video but i listen to the song - if i like, i buyDoes anyone really bother to watch music videos on YouTube anyway?
Thats what you fuckers get when blocking other countries from watching some UK clips
Im still laughing. Does that make me a evil person?
PRS are flexing their PR muscle making out that Google/Youtube are the bad guys because Youtube won't pay the new rate they're demanding.
Youtube are saying that they'd be losing money on each video watched if they paid the rate PRS want.
It's doomed to failure because PRS aren't getting ANY revenue from Youtube now, and Youtube are big enough internationally to just go "Fuck You" to PRS in the UK. It's all posturing and in the end they'll work something out.
They aren't free clips, we rent them through our tv liscenceThats what you fuckers get when blocking other countries from watching some UK clips
+1!!!
Serves you well!
Like Google can't afford it..
who cares if they could afford to take a loss on this... they a business so why the fuck would they set up a business model that would make them lose money?
Of course, they could agree to it then charge a subscription fee to use Youtube. bet you like that one![]()
