We all have our own obsessive compulsive habits. I'll start with a few of mine.

I check every pocket before I go outside.
I don't eat the stalks of brocolli.

I'll probably think of more later.

This thread is about why you're a freak.

I constantly think that i've not locked my doors.

Has been times where i've ended up walking about 5/10 mins up the road and the need to check has got that bad i've ran back to check even though it IS locked.

Anything remotely unexpected in food puts my appetite off for the whole day and I can't eat the same food again for at least 6 months. :eek7:

I'm still wary of cheese and onion pasties because I found a chicken bone in one when I was about 13.

Right you fuckers no laughing or abuse, I have had enough at work.

When I am at home and I need a poo I have to take all my clothes off while I am on the toilet, I only start to drop after I have removed my last item which is usually my watch. I always have better poo's this way.

I always remove my wedding ring before playing video games.

The pooing thing is odd.....
I know quite a few people who refuse to poo unless its in their own toilet....which i also think mighty strange.
I can't bear fish, but will happily eat bucketloads of taramosalata....which is about the fishiest thing on the planet.
I'm quite paranoid about a lot of things.....i worry about relationships a lot and about other peoples problems a lot too.....but i think I'm just one of life's worriers.....I've got better since I've got older.

I obsessively avoid death and, to a slightly lesser degree, injury. The extent of my obsession can be judged by the fact that I am currently neither injured nor dead. Not even slightly. :(

I repeatedly check my pockets to make sure that I still have everything I left the house with. If I'm driving and park, within a minute I will forget if I locked the car or not and worry about it.

Before I buy anything, I have to check my money atleast 5times before I am satisfied I have the right amount of money. I have to make sure I have my watch on before I leave the house, If I don't have my watch on I feel weird and I have to go back for it.

List is endless with me, but that could just be because I am a weird fooker. :(

When using IRC I tend to always click the buttons of each channel to make sure the activity highlight stays turned off, even if I don't care what goes on in those channels.

Can't think of any others right now.

I hate pork is that an OCD?

I hate hairs on my fingers and burn them off if I see any.

I like things that add up to ten when I count them, such as windows on the front of a house, peoples faces add up to ten but I have to count the things twice(eyes, nostrils and mouth). This started when I was young, no idea where it came from but I can't get rid of it.

Every clock in the house has to be exactly the right time.

I can't drive past a puddle without going straight through it, sometimes theres some girls by it, those times make me the happiest person alive for about 10 minutes.

I like to insist on decent grammar and punctuation in my texts, as well as in MSN. It gets on my tits when everyone else spls lk dis.

All my DVD's have to be placed in order of the company which produced them. My music albums however, are placed alphabetically.

I still drive like how I was taught. Feed the wheel, mirror - mirror - signal, handbrake - into - neutral etc. :)

edit:// I think some people are confusing habits with OCD.

I also do this. Didn't really see it as an OCD thing before, thought I was just being careful, but I guess it is. Especially as I seem to do it every 20 minutes or so.

Since I have OCD quite strongly, *everything* :D

You probably know I've got a mouth that makes a foghorn seem quiet and on IRC this is hardly an exception. Most notably when I'm trying to get an opinion across. I can't see grey area's - only black and white, so god help anyone trying to tell me I'm wrong about something :(

I check my pockets before I leave the house - to make sure I've got everything.

When I wake up every morning first thing I do is smoke a fag - I'm a smoker.

Tbh I can't be bothered to list my habits, I don't have OCD in the slightest. I have the least organised CD collection on the planet (about 800 CD's, some in their boxes others not, some lost, some at my parents house, some in the car, no doubt some under the bed etc) and don't mind mess as long it doesn't either grow or stink. Pretty sure I've got ADD tho, but that's a different story. I just seem to stop concentrating for 10 minutes in every hour. I have no idea how to stop it.

If you concentrate your energies on finding a solution, I'm sure it'll work out.

Btw the pockets thing, dunno about OCD, but I tend to find that without thinking about it I put stuff in my pockets so it balances out in terms of weight, cos I get annoyed when one side of my jacket is dropping down.

Exactly the same - probably because of burglarys whilst living in Bradford :(

I liked this one tho:

Just like every smoker you'd love it to be OCD rather than addiction to nicotine and a weak will ;)

Others? Starting the night before I'm off on holiday I have to check that I've got my passport every fucking half hour. Even if it's in exactly the same place as it was last time I checked...

I'm also really anal about formatting my forum posts. Sometimes I hit that "preview" button about 5 times before hitting "submit" - only the twice this time tho :)

before i goto a point of purchase (unless i have a card) i will count my change multiple times. i then separate it into different pockets. if i think something will cost 2.75 i will count out £2 and put it into one pocket, count out 75 into another pocket and keep the rest of the change in my hand incase i counted it wrong.

I've got the Pockets thing - its bloody annoying because I still find myself doing it while riding my motorbike.

I'm obsessed with forgetting things. Before I do anything when I'm out of the house I'll ask myself "ok, what have I forgotten".

I like to know what time it is. People think I'm boring them alot of the time because I usually check my watch atleast once every 5 minutes.

Before using the phone or going into a meeting I need to have it set in my mind exactly who it is I'm calling/meeting, why I'm calling/meeting them, what I will say and how, and how they're likely to reply, and how I will reply to each possibility.

The pockets thing is just normal behaviour. These are lame attempts at OCD.

You don't have OCD until you switch the bedroom light on and off 32 times to stop your family from dying in a fatal road traffic accident.

QFT! :D

I mean a bit of text slang is ok, not overly done, I usually shorten "though" to "tho" and such but as far as i acronyms go, I use about 3. :p

I used to have to say a prayer every single night that listed the name of every single person I liked, even down to my individual stick insects, in exactly the same order even down to the bits where I stopped for breath, or else I would die in my sleep. Weird thing was, I don't even believe in god, but I thought the ghost that haunted my bedroom did.

I might have been an odd child.

Now the worse I get it constantly checking my phone to see if I remembered to turn it off in the cinema. And having to jingle my keys in my hand before I can shut the front door.

Not at all. That is scarily similar to a ritual I had.

It feels good when you find out that you're not the only loon module here :)

Lol.

I remember one of the blokes off Dirty Sanchez was talking about how he has to brush his teeth in a certain way every morning, and if he does something wrong while he's brushing them, he has to spit out the tooth paste, rinse his mouth out, and start again. He said that if he doesn't do it right then he thinks something bad will happen. I think that qualifies as proper OCD.

I also have the thing about checking the time a lot like Dukat. If I don't have a watch or my mobile on me, I'll find myself asking people the time a lot. I'm not sure why this is.

I have a lot of little things which I do on the computer aswell, similar to what Skyler said about IRC, but not on IRC. Such as when I play games etc., I will do pointless things just because it has become habit and it irritates me if I do not do them.

my urge to check my pockets is so strong that I have to do it even when I really can't spare a free hand, like when riding a mountain bike down a slope at 60kph.
If I'm driving, and my jacket is on the rear seat (as I'm wont to place it), I'll get the urge so bad that I have to reach behind me to feel the pockets.
