Nice thread!!

Here's the most memorable games I've played, I started when i was real young, somthing like 4 or 5. been playing games ever since (I'm now 20).

The list is a little long winded but tbh these games are all ones that I've played atleast 10 hours on - maybe excepting frogger - most of them alot more than that, I can remember how almost every single one 'played', and I've never fogotten the end boss when I've completed a game :) . I'd say these titles are some of the best games ever made.

I've missed a fair bit though - civilisation series, both system shock games, every final fantasy game other than 7, I played elite but was waaay too young to really understand it or play it properly, I never really got into the duke nukem games either.

I've not listed games that I feel where either boring or unimportant in the grand scheme of things, also I haven't listed games that I haven't played enough to really know them - eg. Duke Nukem or Elite :)

------------ BBC and other Pre-PC systems -----------
Frogger!!
Worms
Wolfenstein 3D (Spear of Destiny)

----------- NES -----------
Zelda (the better one omfg!)
Mario 1, 2 and 3
Dr Mario
Tetris
Kirby!!
Double Dragon 1, 2 and 3

----------- Mega Drive -----------
Sonic 1, 2 and 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic CD (for the mega-CD addon)
Shining Force (i tihnk thats what it was called?)
Fifa Series

----------- Saturn -----------
Guardian Heroes
Sonic Jam
Virtua Fighter 3 (?)
Virtua Cop 2 (?)
Daytona USA
Shining Wisdom

----------- Playstation -----------
Grand Theft Auto

----------- Nintendo 64 -----------
Goldeneye
Mario 64
Zelda64 : Ocarina of Time
Zelda64 : Majora's Mask
Rainbow 6
Starfox64

----------- Dreamcast -----------
Aerowings
Sonic Adventure
Sonic R

----------- PC -----------
Quake
Half Life
Counter Strike
Warcraft 2
Rainbow 6
C & C
C & C Red Alert
Age of Empires
Homeworld
Diablo
StarCraft
Unreal Tournament
Medal of Honour
Hidden and Dangerous
Total Annihilation
Quake 3: Arena
C & C Red Alert 2
Haegemonia
Jedi Knight
Rainbow 6: Rogue Spear
Soldier of Fortune
Delta Force 3 Land Warrior
Age of Empires 2
Call of Duty
Diablo 2
Max Payne 1 and 2
Dues Ex
Ground Control
Xwing vs TIEfighter
Operation Flashpoint
Jedi Knight 2
Battlefields 1942
Hidden and Dangerous 2
Hitman 2
Grand Theft Auto Vice City
Rainbow 6: Raven Shield
Warcraft 3
Soldier of Fortune 2
Far Cry
Boiling Point
Unreal Tournament 2003
Rome: Total War
Dawn of War
C & C Generals
Final Fantasy 7
Doom 3
Battlefields 2
AVP2
Half Life 2
Counter Strike Source
Dark Ages of Camelot
FEAR
Call of Duty 2

I was going to put the game that I've enjoyed the most down here, but I couldnt begin to think which one comes out on top. Half life springs to mind but its too general - FF7 has a more gripping story (atleast so far, havent finished it yet!), and Call of Duty 2's combat is just leagues ahead. DAOC has kept me occupied longer than HL as well.

Most of those games have atleast one outstanding feature that really does make them top dog in some way or other.

As I said, great thread!! have a rep point!

Am putting on 'Abandonware' on me site as from tomorrow. All the old classic favourites for free download. Wow think of all the money I gonna make. Wait! They FREE? Oh well I loved the games and I played tons. Be glad to see them downloaded. Setting up a server to host the games in the next few days. Exciting eh?

Am not gonna put a link to my site cos it too blatant. I believe in being subtle. Think about it. Subtle is my middle name - well as well as a few others - thoughtful - bashful - shy etc. Another can I think.

First ever console I got was a Grandstand back in the 70's. It was black and white and had variations of Pong on it.

Then onto

Atari 2600
Superman, Space Invaders, Defender, Night Driver, Breakout, Pacman etc

Sinclair Spectrum
Manic Miner, Jet Set Willy, all the Ultimate games (they are now Rare btw), Skool Daze, Wheelie, too many to mention.

Commodore 64 (best computer ever by a mile)
Had just about everything for this, great games were the Epyx sports games like Summer Games 2, Winter Games etc. Paradroid, one of the best games ever created. Was able to code on this too (and crack games, oops :) )

Amiga
Sensible Soccer mostly on this.

SNES
Donkey Kong Country, 32bit graphics on a 16bit console :worthy:
The Mario Games, just such good game design, Miyamoto is a genius.
Pilotwings. Hosted so many good games this console.

Nintendo 64
Mario 64, Goldeneye (one of the greatest games ever created), Mario Kart, Banjo Kazooie, Lylat Wars, Perfect Dark. Was a great console, had many more games for it, completed most.

Sega Saturn
Nights was a sublime game. Sega Rally also amongst many others.

Dreamcast
Virtua Tennis - such a good game

Xbox
bought because of Dead Or Alive Beach Volleyball :D

PC
Duke Nukem, Colin Mcrae Rally, Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix games, Toca games also. I like driving games.

Arcades
Every day I would visit the local arcade, the 80's were a great time for arcade games. Mastered Shinobi totally, great game. Robocop was good also along with Hyper Sports (me and some mates used to spend the afternoon on one game of that), Outrun I remember also. Mame is so good to relive the old games I played.

You can add in a Gameboy, Gameboy Advance and DS as well.

I have pretty much owned everything at some point and played everything as well :D

If I look at these lists of some of you... damn.

Anyways, I started playing with the Playstation and I didn't have that many games but here they are:
- Grand Theft Auto
- Gran Turismo
- Gran Turismo 2
- Cool Boarders 2
- Driver
- Driver 2
- Fifa '98, '99 and 2000

Then, I moved on to the Playstation2 (and still playing):
- Gran Turismo 4
- Gran Turismo 3 A-spec
- Grand Theft Auto III
- Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
- Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
- Call of Duty
- every Medal of Honour (my dad loves those games)
- Fifa 2004, 2005, 2006
- Need for Speed: Underground
- Need for Speed: Underground 2
+ a couple I gave away and don't remember

Finally, PC:
- UT: Tactical Ops
- Dark Age of Camelot

That's about it. I think I started playing on the Playstation in 1998 when GTA came out and I have been playing games eversince. I wasn't interested in games till GTA came out. <hides in shame>

Vic 20 - Jet Pac, Football Manager

Amstrad cpc 464 - Bard's Tale, Space Harrier, Elite, Heavy on the Magik, Gauntlet 2

Sega Mastersytem - Alexx kidd in miracle world, Psycho Fox

Sega Megadrive - PHANTASY STAR!! ESP 2!! (agree its the best ever old PS game!) , shining in the darkness (pure class), shining force 1+2, Warsong (langrisser)

Sega Saturn - Shining the Holy Ark, Gardian Heroes, Mysteria, and ofc Dragonforce.. possibly the best game i've ever played, very much underated/overlooked

Sega Dreamcast - Phantasy Star Online, Skies of Arcadia (GIVE MMORPG VERSION!) , Record of Lodoss War, Sonic Adventure, Evolution

PC - Baldurs Gate, Sim City 3000, Heroes of might and magic 2+3, might and magic 6-8 (jbard? stupid password hehe) alpha centauri, civ 2+3..

but ofc the most time i played on any game ever is daoc. by far..

btw for u phantasy star fans, looking like an april/may release for phantasy star universe ( multi format servers) looks kickass, needs an endgame tho as many peeps have said on psobb forums. but sonic team are a kick ass developer.. they'll get a good one in :)
