Everyone says Master of Puppets, due to Battery/Orion and one/two other tracks. The best album IS and allways will be Ride The Lightning.

Answering this question is like answering "Which woman do you prefer to f*ck?"

Anyone who likes to f*ck, shouldn't have to choose.

Ride The Lightning

Anyone voting for anything after 1991 needs their ears testing.

Garage inc. isn't all that bad really. Then again it's just covers so... perhaps it doesn't fit onto the list in the first place. :)

I voted St. Anger.

One of the few albums I can listen to from the start to the end. - And that is what makes a good album for me.

I voted St. Anger.

Anyone got a handgun laying around, we've got something that needs to be put down... St.Anger was the WORST album out of all of them, hell. Load and Re-Load were better than that.. SKOM/Dirty Window are the only two good songs on the album.

Ride The Lighthing or Kill 'em All, voted Kill 'em All cause of the novelty at that time.

Actually it's not that bad, just got a really bad rep from people.

Overrated underrating i'd say.

Well, it's not my favourite album (Hell, I sat through Master of Puppets, Reload and RTL on Saturday.. With my other mate constantly chanting the bass riff for Some Kind Of Monster -_-) but it has honestly been one of the few which I dislike.. I dislike Anger, but I won't say it hasn't got 1-3 good tracks on it. (Which I did say!)

Because people are idiots? :( Ride The Lightning is SO much better (If it had Orion and Bettery on it instead of Call of Ktulu it'd be the best album ever tbh)

This is actually a argument I have once in a while with friends. Everyone knows "Ride the Lightning", "Fade to Black" and "Creeping Death" own every other track out there.

While Ride the Lightning is awesome, the main reason I - and I believe most critics like Master of Puppets more is due to the albums quality overall, I mean the only 'weak' song on the album really is 'The thing that should not be' and even that song is way above average!

While Ride on the other hand sits with songs like 'Trapped under ice', 'Escape' and 'Fight Fire with Fire'.

That said, I think all of Metallica's albums are good and sadly a lot of them don't get listened too due to the angry fan boys yelling sell outs! at the band.
Yes, Load & Reload wasn't exactly Master of Puppets but there's still a few very good songs on them, for example 'King Nothing' & 'Until it sleeps' or 'Devil's Dance' & 'Fuel'.

<3 The intro to Devil's Dance. I've actually got most of them on CD and their whole discography on MP3, so I've heard all their songs. But yeah, it's the OTT fanboys who kill the albums. (Hense why I don't say I HATE a album, I just dislike some)

Hmm I might be wrong.. but think I am suppose to give my view on it. But if that is your view, peace be with it

I Voted for MOP but I do listen to all their albums regularly with the exception of Garage Inc, S & M, St.Anger.

Picking one is hard tbh but MOP got the Vote because I like every song on the album and play it start to finish without skipping any songs. :)

Heh, "The Thing That Should Not Be" is my favourite song on MoP, which says a lot since i love the other songs on it too! :D

original garage inc is way before 1991 tho ;)

Garage is the best album tho 8 super tunes am I evil, Killing time, small hours and the wait is just too brilliant and the last 4 are great. :drink:

For me it was always Ride the Lightening. Call me a heathen, but i never could get into Master of Puppets, somehting about the production jarred with me. I actually preferred And Justice For All to MoP.
But it's Ride the Lightening all the way for me, especially because you can still hear Mustain's influence on the playing style throughout the album even though he's only credited on 2 songs.
