When your drinking for a night out, Billy Connelly or Robin Williams.
When you want music, but want to be entertained on a comedy level, Stephen Lynch.
When you want to "get black", you know that sort of humor, eddie murphy or just put on kings of comedy.
Ed Byrne is class for the "real in your face" comedy.

And ofcourse, if you want "intellectual humor", you just can't beat Eddie Izzard :D

Too many to mention, but those are faves for sure.

And agree aobve, Dane Cook is so underrated _.||.

Bill Hicks of course, Stephen Lynch for the sheer comedy guitar genius and facial expression, Billy Connolly for lack of anything decent these days.

Oh yeah, fat fucker who did Animals and The Office should be castrated then burnt at the cross. Er, ah that's it, Ricky Gervais.

Comics Live:
Eddie Izzard, 'tyranny of ducks' was a masterpiece.
Tommy Cooper
Robin Williams
Billy Connelly
Peter Kay

Sketches:

Morcombe & Wise - the breakfast sketch
Eric Sykes 'The Plank'
Harry Enfield - The football match (old 1950's team v modern team)
Peter Kay - so many but Pheonix Nights (robot wars episode) when the bouncer has the new car alarm fitted 'get away from the f*cking car!' still has me cracking up everytime.
Two Ronnies - Fork Handles/Four Candles sketch
Goodness Gracious me - Going for English sketch
Little Britain - the only gay in the village - most were excellent
Alan Partridge - Episode about BSE/Farmers, the radio interview.

So many more.....

Get out... i've seen more laughter at a funeral than a russel brand show.

Come on, cut Mary some slack.
I mean, for god sake, he likes furry man bums.
You can't expect him to have good taste in other areas.
