The day I feel the need to defend Opeth from bashing from a Linkin Park fan is far, far ahead into the future, believe me.

And Mike Patton has always been better in his side-projects. Especially Tomahawk and Fantômas. But then again, I guess the memory of FNM singing a Lionel Richie cover in a room filled with trannies is way to etched in my memory. Please make it stop!1!1 :eek6:

Opeth sure is an amazing band with very good musicians playing, but I think I have to say Tool as a favourite.

Stone Roses, Clash, Manics.

Any of the above.

Does it have to be 'bands' tho? I'm in love with Bob Dylan, y'see.

Hmm, let's see. For me, two bands and a solo musician at first place: therion and Borknagar (bands) and Vintersorg (solo, but since he's a member of Borknagar, that does explain why he comes in at the 1 for me :) ).
Pretty close up would be Nightwish and Einherjer.

The only band I really hate would be Evanescence :puke: Bland Nu-lmetal who copied everything from Nightwish, Within temptation and The Gazthering, then go boasting everywhere they invented the genre...

Hawkwind your best band ever? Seriously?

Not really, though I did like them for many many years :) I think its hard to say Best Band Ever, it depends on your mood :)

Not YOU!!
Awwww /cries

Hawkwind were good. Like you said so many bands and it does totally depend on mood. I've been collecting CD's since they first came out and had the second CD player Marantz ever put on the market. Still got it and its still playing. Over 900 CD's later - no way I could ever choose a fav. I still love playing 'Never mind the Bollocks' occasionally. So I guess I'm a lost cause.:drink:

Merry Christmas

If I would say best band at the moment it would be Stone Roses (first album) but that wasn't really the question, The Smiths must be my all-time favourite band and still I haven't listened to them for more than three-four years :)

Changes like the wind if I'm honest. Would be one of New Order, Joy Division, The Smiths, Primal Scream or, probably in the lead at the moment, Super Furry Animals.
