Yeah Batistuta was one of the top strikers back in his day.

I always wished Rivaldo joined United i know Fergie was a big fan of his i remember reading the paper one day and Fergie said 'Rivaldo is one of the best attacking midfielders ever' but that was when United couldn't really afford the big bucks wages.

I was reading on Wiki last night that there was talk of big sam bringing him to Newcastle but nothing came of it shame would have loved to see him in the Premier League.

I think the wages were for Rivaldo were around £90k a week iirc. Good player but we were offered him when he was 31 and he wanted a 3 year deal. At the time we only offered one year deals to players of that age
