slowly but surely every day a group of mids seems to end up at the CK bashing the doors for piddly small dmg every time.
odd thing is the first door is down 10%
Thidranki will be ours in a fortnight at this rate so keep up the good work Middies...(you can bring a ram next time it might help a bit )

ok here's the story.
on short notice i decided to see if we could get a pair of rams.
after getting a lvl 50 skald to run to Bledmeer and get them he only managed one due to a lack of buffing....(typical)
plus the hibs and albs were swarming around the area anyway.
so i asked if anyone could craft a ram...and sure enough offers came in and at one point we had what i thought was 2 rams on the way. one in my hands (the one that was used on the door) and one on the way from Jordheim.

when the parts arrived i was a ram beak short, so i tried everything i could to get the ram ASAP in the end me and Adale had to run to Bledmeer (being assaulted by Hibs at the time) to get a ram beak. somehow after getting lost we managed to get there and inside alive.

got the beak suicided on the Hibs (handy that eh ) and back i went to Svasud. everythings fine we had the 2nd ram the Gothis were coming to port me in with the bit....
it was then someone said the albs had repaired the door to 100% and we will need another ram. (insert expletives here)

so not only was i the guy who builds the rams, im the guy who had to get the rams on short notice, run the thing and run the cg....and after the 1st attempt most of the Mids went "too many Albs now im logging"

Wonderful, i worked my ass off all afternoon to make even the first ram possible. and so did many others who helped get the rams to me, aim the ram (oops ) rouse everyone up and generally shout commands to people.
and im very very grateful for your effort guys especially the crafters...dont worry once i get a ram cladding we have 2 full rams again they will be put to good use sometime i assure you.

and to those who just gave up, shame on you
it saddens me to see the spirit of Midgard vanish in some people.
remember it is OUR faste, and we shall have it back!

Some handy tips on Thidranki keep raids - I've run a few

- Make sure you have 2 full rams ready to go (including wood) when you launch the raid.

- Try to have a set group of 4-8 people set up in advance to carry both rams, nothing worse than distributing at random and praying people pay attention when you need parts.

- Give people a couple of days' advance warning, and a set launch time for the raid. People will often port over beforehand, but get them all together in a CG and shout at them a lot.

- Don't get disheartened. Sometimes raids go like a dream, quite often they're complete and utter shite - I've even had someone with ram parts say 'Sorry im tired logging now nn' and quit, without giving the parts to someone else first

Oh, and having a main who can craft all ram parts helps

well at least the ram parts are there now. though i cant play Lostold until we raid the keep again and Swords is getting close to cap :/

i think more shouting is needed next time. so simple commands like "can someone please kill the bowman who has been shooting me for the past 5 mins...." are understood and interpreted

Well done Lostold, despite all the odds I think we were a few people short of a full on raid tho, did not seem to be enough ranged casters, hunters, judging by how many times I kept getting plunked when using the ram.

Still, excellent nights entertainment and beats bashing the bejesus out of Drakulvs in Malmo.

It does get somewhat chaotic tho, and it is difficult for people to listen/read the cg commands and info. But then that's why it's the BG for people to learn about base functions in RvR. It will improve I am sure.

Thanks for trying Lostold! It was my first keep raid (ever), and I had a great time. It was a shame we didn't manage to get the second door down, but we had a good go at it After a while though, my poor old PC and dial-up connection couldn't take the strain and I got kicked out..

Looking forward to the next attempt
