I want to play some DVDs on my telly that are filmed in aspect ratio 1.33:1 (aparently!)

I've tried setting thje TV to 4:3 instead of 16:9 but it makes no difference, there's still a wierd fishbowl effect :(

Any suggestions please? Tar :)

That site says it should work on 4:3 ratio but Throds TV still showing funny.

I reckon it may be a user error messing it up

I'd leave it at 16:9, it's basically widescreen made to fit better on 4:3 tv.

Is your DVD player upscaling?
I use my PS3 to play dvd's and for 1.33:1 dvd's I have to disable upscaling or it will always display in widescreen....

Could be the dvd has been exposed to sunlight or too much heat and is warped. Warped dvd = warped screen. Try putting a red hot iron on it to flatten it down. Wrap a slightly damp towel around it first though as you don't want to scorch it.

Feel free to ask me for more advise on any such matters.

Correct answer imo.

Look at your player as well as your tv darling.

I reckon the upscaling is the issue, I'll try it and turn it off later, cheers.
