I`m a newbie to CS and am still trying to get to grips with it. I love playing the game but sometimes get p*ss*d off when people tell me to leave the server because I`m not as good as them (especially as I can`t find the key to type on screen).
Agreed, I probably am not at the same standard but, is there some sort of hidden rule as to where newbies can and can`t play?
Can suggest a decent fast server for me to play on with people of a similar standard?

Ignore them m8. Either that or make a note on a bit of paper the keys for chatting in game and give as good as u get!!!

Actually, stazbumpa, that's probably quite a *good* score as a CT on highrise...it's such an awful map for CTs. =)

As for bob, I'm afraid you'll meet plenty of people (often children) with that kind of egocentric attitude problem on-line. Fact of life, I guess. I suspect some people say things they wouldn't say to your face in real life too, because they're hidden away behind an internet connection.

If you've got a friend or two who are interested in playing CS, try to get on the same server and team as them. Much more fun sticking together with someone you know. Choose the same skin or something so you can easily identify each other at the start of the round.

Well, wot with Barrysworld technically dead, your best bet is to try Demon internet servers, Jolt.co.uk or Force9.net. Force 9's rarely have peeps on them but they are bloody fast. Have'nt used them 4 a while tho'.

Use Gamespy 3D to find 'em.

Hey I don't hate newbies, it's always a laugh seeing them run around trying all the doors seeing if they can get in any of 'em.
What length of time is someone a newbie for when they first start?
I played for 3mnths, and I have to say that sometimes you can play crap 'cause of ur system configuration 8fps is quite bad.

Hey I only realised last month why I can't buy when I'm not at base..... god I'm smart.....
and sometimes I don't even notice I've got the bomb ... 'cause my OpenGl is fucked...
and let them run with their weapons out..... the quicker you get there the more kills for u, or the faster you die.
newbies take loadsa health off the enemy for you to sweep in and eliminate ... thank them

I have only been playing for half a year and that was when i played tfc i only played cs on christmas eve. I hardly ever had any comments made to me about being a newbie. But then tfc is quite a frantic so no-one probably noticed and playing tfc gave me a little experience ready for cs.

Yeah I think that in comparison the players of CS are more "up there own arses" than them of TFC. Although I enjoy playing CS more.

ERM WELL NEWBIES!

On the whole i mostly like newbies!!For one simple reason!
They are so fun to play against coz they always camp in the same places, cant use AKs for shit and generally dont have the balls to rush!!

Having said that if your on a team with a load of newbies they are a right bunch of annoying babies!!!

1. de_cobble - There is always a newbie in the Terrorist tower with an AK!!who wont move and try to plant the bomb!

2. cs_militia - Theres always a newbie with a hossie in the bog...what do they do in there?????

3. de_prodigy - Theres always a newbie camping the terrorist spawn site!! Again refusing to accept the fact they need to plant a bomb!!

To list a few.... This wouldnt be so bad if they listened to the advice of seasoned players, but they dont!!! and it makes the games drag on oh so much!

But some of my proudest cs moments is when your playing on dust and after many rounds of camping you finally manage to convice a team of newbies to RUSH....They rush, they WIN and they see how to really play the game ...it almost brings a tear to your eye!!

If you are a regular at CS all ur scores get send to a server at theclq.com for processing, it then comes out with league tables, sadly many people cheat the server into thinking they have 10000 kills in 100 mins.
And also it's not ranked by ability but rather by number of kills, so someone could play all week and do really well, but be abs shite..... i.e. me
I was rank 323 after 32 hrs playing in 2 days

Hey I'm a newbie, been playing maybe 3-4 weeks. Not all newbies are the same. Instead of slaging them off offer helpful advice. This is a game, its supposed to be fun, so sometimes I make stupid mistakes but I learn from them and try not to repeat them.

I try to complete objectives ie, rescue hossies,plant or defuse bomb. I cover my team defusing a bomb. So Im not a great shot, I get head kills by luck but I can kill with an AK at range now.

I'm glad you enjoy the game cos IMHO its ace, so I hope it gives you as much fun as it does me.

Personally i've got nothing against newbies. I do have problems with the following though.

1 - Anybody who asks a question that is covered in the Counter-Strike manual
2 - When people spend every round of a map camping in the exact same place for no good reason, i.e. there not defending a bomb site, guarding hossies, etc
3 - When people refuse to do the map objectives, i.e. dont plant/diffuse the bomb, dont save/defend the hossies or dont escape as VIP
4 - People who spam "Votemap X cos this map sucks"
5 - People who accuse others of cheating soley because their being killed every round.
6 - Team Killers
7 - Bug Exploiters in maps, hossie jumping, etc.

Ok im gonna stop now cos otherwise this is gonna turn into a huge rant.

I genrally try and get on with everybody when I play CS. Besides the more newbies the better cos I gotta get some kills
