It's got really warm all of a sudden as the wind has swung to the south, and today I noticed (including my own car) that there were deposits of a yellowish/sandy dust where there had been little pools of condensation on the car. It was all over it and my girlfriend's car, and when I got back to where I live I saw the same on the other cars.

Anyone else?

You're girlfriend is actually a giant space lizard and her skin is shedding.
I would move out ASAP.

Every few years, we'd get Sahara desert sand in Denmark, carried by the wind. It does happen :)

Yeah, sand is yellow'ish, but not as yellow as the shocked G seems to be.

Also, sand just gathers everywhere and leaves when things dry up, pollen(if i remember correctly), latches on even after dried up.

Experts have suggested the dust could be pollen from oil seed rape fields or sand from the Sahara which has dropped from the upper atmosphere

I hate to nit-pick but where the fuck are they getting their experts from who can't tell the difference between pollen and sand?

lol. too right Pez. answer is prolly because they're media experts. or perhaps really poor experts who don't have access to microscopes ;)

They probably phones two experts and asked them what yellow dust on cars could be. No more info than that.
