today is the dutch version of christmas, "sinterklaas". iirc it celebrates the eve of St. Nicholas' feast day.

in effect, it means I get pressies twice

I didn't really get something that could be classed as a 'pressie' tho hehe, but me old mum came by and gave me something called a 'banketstaaf' which basically is a traditional pastry filled with ground almonds.
She made it herself and it was quite yummy.
I am well content
