Easiest way to remove old System REstore Points is to do this

  • Click Start > Run
  • Type cleanmgr, hit enter
  • Choose the drive that the restore points are on, click ok
  • let Windows finish scanning the drive
  • once finished click on More Options (tab across top)
  • look to the last option System Restore, hit clean up and it will remove all restore points except the most recent made.
All done

Thanks!

I knew you could disable and re-enable System Restore to clear it but didn't know you could do it and still preserve the latest ones
