xp death givers :|

<whine>

trying to level in df this morning with my level 25 bonedancer at the necros past the first plated room. not many players on, so just me and a healer pulling seperately and watching each other's backs- as you do.

alb stealther waits until we've both engaged a mob, then grey kills us both. ok fair enough, i don't have a problem with grey killing, cos guarenteed if you let them live they just /as mid @ blah blah, and you'll get zerged :x

k, get rez'd she does it again. ok fair enough, whatever floats ur boat- i wouldn't personally, but ok :)

what i do find lame is when she waits until your engaged in melee with a yellow mob, pops out and kills your healer pet, then leaves. as far as i can see the only reason to do that is to give xp death- cos tbh its fairly touch and go to tank a yellow plated without your healer pet :D

she could have just one hitted me (for the 4th time :)), so she didn't need to kill the healer pet if she'd just intended to kill me.

xpdeath givers is the only problem i have with this game tbh

looks like you've been given a lesson in "what classes do we hate more than anything else!" by that alb stealther

much like many midplayers hate necros with a passion .. the same is true for the other realms hating BD's

i know one of the SB's in our guild finds it extremely funny to kill the necro's pet..then watch as the necro runs into aggro truing to get away from him and die as a result of the nasty beasts in DF ;)

when necro is fighting mob, xp death is practically inevitable.

Unlike some Mids might think but there's a large faction in albion who rather wants to get rid of the necro-uber-camping-class. I thought cabbies were bad with taking tangler away from normal xp groups but necro's are the overlords in that. And yes I've got a necromancer myself and yes ofcourse I've had some encounters that I was camping some spot to level my buffbot. But most of the times I move to not known spots or rarely camped ones and level my alts in peace. And once ToA gets here with those insta spawn spots you can bet on it that there are 10 necro's camping it all the time. I've not seen many people talk much about Bonedancers or Animist but I wonder if the feeling is mutual about those classes. And I'm quite surprised at the low nr of Bonedancers going rvr while it seems to me it's one of the best solo classes to rvr (don't count stealthers for a moment). I bet they only used as money farmers? Would love to know Mids opinion about em and same for Animist (these seem to be even more extinct then Bonedancers).

there's always a lot of BD's in Darkness Falls, of pretty much all levels, so if they're not ending up in rvr, I would imagine a lot of them are used for cash/seal farming-

though killing saph seal mobs solo is a slow business as bd mana usage is absolutely horrendus, so downtime can be huge. probably more viable with a healer bb for PoM5 and base buffs for pets.

since necro's have the mana tap/life tap combo, they pretty much have zero downtime (from my experience anyway) they would beat bd's as farmers; i guess it depends on what they're killing

Necro's are stupidly overpowered in PvE, I don't care that they claim to be gimped in rvr it's not an excuse. All pet classes have the same problem and they're not all unkillable PvE classes. I rarely have any problems chaining orange/red for hours with my necro.

I canm assure you Animists arent that great at PvE..in Dungeons..yes they can be uber if placed right..but again power drain is a problem...outside of Dungeons to level quickly we have to find a spawn camp and camp it..which is why we suck.

Necros can move anywhere anytime...thats what makes the PvE Gods and untouchable... which is why we hate them because you KNOW for a fact that that lvl 50 necro is probably only 2-3days old max!!

necros>BD's>animists when it comes to lvling i would think

my own BD i'm soloing now, chaining oranges and reds without much problem without a pombot and just mcl1 as a RA. The mobs may go down slowly, as i don't spam the LT, but no downtime at all. Necros will prolly laugh at my playtime (about 8 days now to lvl44.5) but that's still faster than most mid classes solo .. .without a bot

why you see so few BD's outthere in rvr? well they more or less have to solo, as no groups want them. Most solo chars, and even most duos, they encounter they will have a more that reasonable chance of winning. But how many solo players are there out there in RvR?

stealthers sure.. but most shy away from attacking a BD, eventho a assassin with high enough CS will own the BD with the first stylechain (big damage + stun =dead BD)

unlike the fantastic stories about BD's owning entire groups...this just isn't true. BD's don't have the damage output of a normal caster, but have much better surviveability ... but this means nothing if the opposition knows what they are doing. They are still casters, with about 1000hp unbuffed and can die easy (note i said can..not will :p)

my own experience with bd, is that unbuffed my pets cannot solo an orange- inevitably what happens is the mob twacks the commander- healer heals, mob goes for healer, healer spams either getting more aggro, vanishing through a wall, a floor, or whatever, with the commander chasing it desperately trying to hit it.

oranges, with me doting, giving ablatives, lifetapping (but generally not tanking since a lot of oranges hit too hard for one healer pet to cope with, and one resisted LT = dead) tend to take far too long for the xp over time to be worth it. yellows aren't much of a problem to chain, and i usually pull with a DoT, tank, and LT if absolutely necessary since thats the power killer. thats not bad xp, but certainly nowhere near as fast as a necro.

yellow/orange i LT once to pull then go afk while i kill it with staff, unless af or abs shield drops its almost impossible to die as sup bd this way.

he well tryed it so many times get stunned or killed half while xp on mob, so now don't care about the rp so much i i can get a silly alb 2 get xp death, it's all about making it harder, and that little alb is gonna be big someday, and even so if u let him live he's sure gonna make a who df and tell where u are, i know i would :D
