Lo there!

My nephew, sometime ago, got an XBOX360 and my sister linked his account to her then partners e-mail address with regards to his parental controls. My nephew can log on as per usual with his password, he's even still got the parental controls password but doesn't really want to still have this linked to the account.

Is there anyway to change this without having to start up a completely new gamertag? Either linking the account to another parental control e-mail, removing it completely, changing his e-mail to another Winows live, anything really just so long as he doesn't loose all of his achievements, points etc and that parental e-mail is gone.

Any help would be appreciated; cheers in advance. :)

You can change which email address his account is linked with no problem as long as the email address you want to link his account with isn't already associated with another XBL account.

You can do all this from the Xbox and the whole process takes about 5mins i had to do it myself a few months back.

Does this change the parental controls in the process? After reading through google, opinions seem to differ quite a lot as to what that parental e-mail address is exactly linked with; the xbox live account, the windows live account or the gamertag.

This whole system is bloody ridiculous...

You think that's hard to do Kir, try cancelling your xbox live sub. They make you jump through hoops.

Yes it is. The ms and live sites both tell you to follow links to un subscribe which lead in loops. NO mention of phoning them. Sneaky bastards. Good luck to them tryng to charge my expired card.

You might want to keep an eye on your accounts. If it was a credit card you used then you've probably unknowingly given them permission to keep charging you and for the bank to keep letting them regardless of whether your card expires. Can't remember the exact term for it but, yeah, they're allowed to keep taking your money and the bank won't stop them.

It's a debit card. They really are scummy, I'd understand them telling you to phone them, but their web portals are just misleading and unhelpful/
