Halo: Fast, clean fun but it gets boring after a while. Multiplayer(campaign) was played by me and my bro for 4h and then both just ewnt *yawn* and never have i touched the blasted thing again. I'd give it a 10 for entertainment but a 6(max) for long life.

Splinter Cell: IT's a bit different then the normal consol games and it gives an edge to it. Sneaking and all that is loads of fun but again, the game can be played through in 8hours and thats about it.

Both titles are good games but not for those who want the game to last more then two days.

FFX: If you like FF series, you'll love FFX. The system is a bit different in fights but when you get used to it you'll be right at home. This one has little of those "annoying" puzzles(i like puzzles too) like the last parts but there are a few.Prepare to grind your teeth to those since some are rather tricky(in a general scale). I couldn't finish the game but i had near 100h of gazmetime and about 50 or so left(since my bro played it through a bit faster, leaving things like minigames alone and so on).

Long game, good fun and one of my personal favourites.

GTA:VC: What can i say? Violence sells and it's fun. It might, after around 50h of gametime, grow a bit boring but i still find myself putting the game on just to harass the poulice or kill civilians. Loads of minigames, the story is..so so but entertining and most missions are quite good. There are some that make you wanna shoot yourself with a 9mm but with a few tries they are actually rather simple.

About the consoles:

Playstation 2:

+Good controller. Best one around.
+DVD.
+Good game collection.
+Graphics are good enough.

-DvD is a bit "picky" of the discs it plays.
-No anti-aliasing. Eyes will hurt a bit after long night sessions with no lights on. Tip: Use a backgroundlight.

X-Box:

+Best potential of this day consoles.
+Superb graphics and getting ebtter all the time.
+Good game collection.
+DvD.

-Same as PS2 DvD problem.
-Rather large controller. You do get used to it.
-Games are a bit too much "PC" oriented at the moment but changing fast.
-Huge.

I think the racing games(rally especially) are the seeling points in x-box.

Then again PS2 has Gran Turismo.

Of those two i would go for the PS but x-box isn't a bad choice either. I'd suggest you look at all the games around and decide on your style. If you like x-box titles more, buy x-box, if you like PS games more, buy PS. Simple :p

Only good thing about x-box is that fighting game and I can't even remember what it's called.

PS2 > X-Box totally.

Why get an X-box if you got a pc?

I think you mean Dead or Alive. True, kickass game. But you can get DOA2 on PS2. A bit older but still kickass :p

X-box is evolving though. Soon they realise they don't have to make x-box games like pc games and then they will truly be amazing. Gamedevs don't realise the potential of that monstrosity just yet. But then there's, in the distant horizon, PS3. Two years still. It's gonna be big.

X-Box has the m ost potential, and in the near future Kotor and Halo 2 (the first was brilliant, if a bit short)
PS2 has Vice City (which is way better on PC anyway) and FFX, and a load of other great titles. at the moment I'd say the PS2 beats the X-Box hands down, but that's changing fast :)

No offence but that's the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen ;O.

X-Box obviously has Halo, and I love it ;p had it since christmas and still playing it now on multiplayer/single player and co-op. But other than Halo there isn't that many great games.

A Playstation 2 with FFX and GTA:VC will keep you entertained for a looooooooooooooooooooong time :) have totally finished FFX myself, took me 3hours to kill Penance (sp?) the most evil fecking boss in any FF game.

But tbh I can't say which to get as I have a PS2/GBA/Gamecube/X-Box/Dreamcast/Original Gameboy/Gameboy Colour/Snes and a PC ;P
