its ok from wot i have played.

and shab i have one since beta but me uck nut brother registered under his name/nick and with his card, soon as his ordered live kit arrived i shall be a little mechassualt, though still battlion is wot im waiting for;)

i just wanted to ask how are people connecting up to xbox live.

atm im having to switch off me cabel modem fer a few seconds so i can use it between pcs and consoles (DC,Xbox)

adsl to hub.

Hub then serves pc's and the xbox.

Just plugged in and off i went!

btw wot hub did you get and wots the difference between hubs/routers and switches?

My cable modem (Now 1MB \o/) connects to my router and then that connects to the hub, along with the 2 PCs and the Xbox.

The difference between a hub and router is simple. A hub simply lets a certain number of machines act as though they were connected directly. A router sits between the hub connecting those machines together and an external net connection (Even in hardware router/hubs, there's just no wires involved when the hardware is put together inthe same plastic case).

What the router usually does is NAT (Network Address Translation). Any data coming in to the router is re-directed to the correct internal IP. So two people can play Quake III on one PC (or something similar) and they're data streams to the server are kept seperate.

okay so wot do i need? i just got a 30 meter ethernet cable and have compleated drilling holes in the wall for it.

now whipped or anyone, tell wot i need to go buy please.
