yes the games included in the beta are shite but just wondering who if anyone is on the beta?

I would have signed up but I havent' got an xBox yet. Nearly bought one the other day, but I'm still at a loss to find any games that really grab my attention.

The christmas box set with Sega GT Rally and JSRF may tempt me again. We'll see what payday offers.

I played the lame 'Wacked' for a bout 30mins then turned it off (Double-shit game). THE WORST!

Put on GPMoto which I kinda liked on XBOX and played it for about 2 days live...

XBOX and XBL are fucking boring! I've got a PC, UT2k3 etc. What was I thinking? XBOX is packed back in it's box again. Anyone want the Live Kit? Make me an offer

I'll be a dunce and get the PS2 live thing too. I'll probably say the same about that...

PS2 is better than the XBOX... Fuck all those "XBOX graphics are better and it's faster" bullshitters... EmotionEngine is 128Bit... XBOX Fat-boy is 32bit PIII (Who cares about the 700Mhz for XBOX and 300Mhz for the PS2...)... Too god-damned slow bus speed and MHz on both of them!

Consoles are for kids, people too fucking lazy to learn how to use a PC, and the rich who can afford (or even want to pay) £45 a game... Hardware is practically free because you have to pay for the PC ports to run them.

I'm I'm the bigest fool of all for buying them! But how else could I play MEtal Gear Solid SOL, and Halo?

I have a PC and a ps2.

I only pay 30 quid for my ps2 games.

He wasn't actually that far off, the CPU in PS2 shits all over the P3 in Xbox (It's twice as fast in fact). It's just NV2X is a bit more advanced than the Graphics Synthesiser in PS2.

cpu in ps2 needs to be fast because it has to do the poly work. on the xbox the nv2a does that leaving the p3 free to do less strenuous stuff.

p4s are only 32bit.

PS2 > P4 PC with GF4 / Rad 9700 ???

Tried signing up for it this morning but the X-Box site is fuX0red - to begin with you have to set IE to specifcally accept all cookies from x-box.com since in their infinite wisdom microsoft haven't signed a single one so they get rejected by default (pld gg). On top of that it's impossible to actually order the starter kit, you get this error every time:

It worked at 2:30am this morning. I think it's all back up and running again now. I had no problems with cookies either.

This dissapointed me though :-

I know and I've been having great fun dishing out lessons in how to destroy a mech in Mech Assualt. The lesson being "How to destroy me"

I managed to grab the nick of Whipped on Xbox Live! so anyone can feel free to look me up on there.

Get an Xbox Live! enabled game and it will download and install the Live! capability to your box. Use the auth code they give you when you sign up on the beta page and choose your handle.

Then play.

Only thing you can't do is shout at the other players until your headset turns up.

cos i assume if its hosted on some1's xbox, isn't a router going to mess things up? (i.e. gotta have ports forwarded or be the dmz on home pc to host)

It is the local machine that hosts it, but I'm pretty sure that the live webby has details on what ports the thing uses.
