Xbox 360 or Playstation 3/4 whatever number we're on now

Well? which will you be going for? i think im going to go for an xbox 360 when they come out, hopefully will be cheap in the xmas sales so will pick one up then. Personally just never had an xbox and think it will be fun. Want to play online etc, and the xbox 360 online will be run by one company and only one charge, one account, this will not be the same for the new playstation where the online part will be run by many companies and there may be more than one charge, and will probably be many accounts to manage etc (from what ive heard). also i really want to play halo and there are some good games id love to play on xbox 360. bored of playstation for now so moving on (my ps2 broke far too fast).

will probably end up getting a ps3 eventually, not bothered about getting it at release, to expensive and not many games etc. not fussed about the online side of it, thats what i have a pc for. PS3 for twitch gaming or playing ISS pro with friends and pc for fps games and mmo's.

from what ive read the 360 supports most USB items, including keyboards and mice.

The PS3 will be worth the buy because your gunna be getting a free blu ray player basically... wich around release, if there out, are gunna cost $1000. The PS3 expected rrp is gunna be around $400.

Microsoft cant make consoles, they just bung some PC components in a box and overcharge people for their 'creation'. If I want to play Halo 16 or
similar fps then Ill just buy a new video card for my PC.

The players are expected to retail at around £1000 on release. Also because all consoles are sold at a lose ( they make money selling the games and liscences) the PS3 is a mega saving at £300 - £400

part for part, if bought in ones the xbox 360s parts are worth around £700. Then take into account bulk buying, contracts, deals ect. Its also why nearly every console gets a cheeper new look about 4 years into its life. Console companys make money from the games and liscences. Not from selling consoles. The more populare the console, the more companys want to publish on it, the more liscences they sell. Its why there never over around £300.

if you replace that "2 months" by "5-6 years" it's actually more like it. to produce some of the special chips etc whole FACTORIES need to be build, to replicate & package CD/DVD/UMD/BLU-RAY millions upon millions are spent to build machines.

no game console ever made profit by selling the hardware only. the money comes in through the software sales.

the last two games companies I worked for had to close and lay off around 50 ppl each time... scumbags like Marc turned a once enjoyable job into a dangerous gambling field... I'm not willing anymore to work my ass off 50-70 hours a week to create a game so that wankers like Marc can play them for free... A game worth playing is a game worth buying...
