Xbox 360 Live problems..

I bought myself an Xbox 360 today, but I'm having some trouble configuring it to work online.

I've connected an ethernet cable from my Nokia modem (came from my ISP in 2002 when I got my ADSL) but it fails the IP Address Test at the Xbox Dashboard.

I've been given the DNS numbers from my ISP, entered those on the xbox but didn't help.

I also fixed so my computer will shear the internet connection with other clients on the network.

My friend did not have this problem 7 months ago when he was here and connected his xbox 360, he went straight in.

Anyone got any tips on how I can make this work?

My ISP is Telenor from Norway if that helps.

Sounds like you need a router, or a switch at least.

If you have a router, follow this layout, and it should work fine

Internet > Router > PC
................\
................360

If you dont have a router, do this:

Internet > PC with ICS on > Switch > 360

Bear in mind, whilst using ICS any software firewalls you have may cause problems. Of course, switch can be replaced with a hub.

Bleh, even more money to spend.

Uninstalled Norton Internet Security now, tried to connect during uninstallation and I got the message that IP Address Connected.

Now after the uninstall is done and I rebooted, it's failing again >_<

Frustrating.

quit my 360 now, considering trying to get it returned tomorrow ^^

After 7 hours I can't get it working, never had to work with a console or game machine for this long before

Especially not when I've had friends who just connected the damn thing and bam, it was working This was at my place as well.

Fixed it, had to turn my computer off before I logged on Xbox Live oO

Ah well, atleast it's done, I'm a gold member now
