having never played either I can't fully comment.
I know both will bore me to death though
Actually it's the perfect time. MS clearly want to be hitting at sony punch for punch right from the start of the next round of the console wars. We're all aware that the xbox was very much a game of catch up from the very start.Bodhi said:Looks shit - looks like another nurdling's console to me.
It's also far too early to release a new Xbox, the first one is still in the growth stage of its product life cycle.
The latter I suspect.leggy said:£300 :/
They really never learn. Or is it just that they know hundreds of xbox mugs will pay that price regardless?
Recompiled doesn't neccessarily mean a new disc, they may be able to recompile just before the game boots up from the original xbox version. Until it's actually fully unvieled we won't really know.Ukle said:Quiet simply Microsoft are the first one to have been caught lying about the new consoles -
The XBox 360 is not backwards compatible - the games have to be completely recompiled i.e. you will need a new disc i doubt Microsoft will be giving them away free when they can get cold hard cash for them.

from the link"At launch, Xbox 360 will be backward compatible with the top Xbox games," Xbox PR manager Michael Wolf told GamesIndustry.biz today. "Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360. You will NOT need to purchase a new 'version' - your original games will work on Xbox 360."
