Looks nice, but I'm going to reserve judgement until after Sony/Nintendo announce next week. From my POV I'd say the PS3 looks more interesting (CELL is funky) thus far though.

BUT... All the titles they mention look shit and its games sell a console not whether it will look good under the telly. Does appear they maybe rushing to get it out the door before Sony rather than wait till they get some killer titles...

True, but given the current climate and the financial backing, it makes sense. They will need to compete directly with Sony (since Ninty are pretty much out of it now tbh), and Microsoft have learnt a hell of a lot from their vast array of mistakes with the XBox. While yes, they could push it to some great strengths in the next couple of years, why not just work with new tech that will get them the same type of results, only quicker?

But yes, it needs games.

The current game selection on the original xbox is enough to convince me.

It's not for everyone (CLEARLY ) but while the playstation will always be my console of choice there are always enough exclusives to warrant another purchase.

It seems like XBMC won't be needed on it - it'll play videos and dvd's already, plus it'll stream from a pc.

xbmc does much more than play dvds well apart from act as a pvr. we like so much that we another xbox now as well. from wot ive read it will be similar to windows media center its not all its cracked up to be

just watched the our colony.net x360 final challeng vid not sure wot to think lots artsy fartsy editing with the dev team talking too much tech/geek and no in game or demo footage apart from live footage.

they did a similar thing with first xbox but it had game footage of pgr, halo and some other game was much better the geek talking onsluaght of the one i just saw

Dunno, bit of a different machine to the xbox. Depends if/when it gets cracked and if people decide they want to basically rewrite XBMC. Unless of course MS enable xbox emulation in which case the current XBMC would probably run. Though it wouldn't really push the 360 either - a new version with full widescreen support would be much better.
