Looking for more movies or TV series focusing on the mystery-alien-conspiracy theme.
Any recommendations welcome.

The Day the earth stood still with keanu reeves is pretty good, throws out some idea's about aliens keeping an eye on our planet as its rare for one to sustain life and they dont want to lose it (to global warming and war basically)

there was a series called TAKEN that i thought was pretty good.

am currently working my way through the box setx of 4400 atm and it aint bad tbh, its like a cross between x files and heroes (but was made like 5 years ago and you can see where heroes ripped it off lol).

assume you've seen firefly and farscape? if not then highly recommend those. The outer limits was good and there was one and I'm buggered if I can remember what it was called but came out just after x files and had these wierd ganglian aliens in it (if anyone knows they get a cookie), also there was a kids series which was ace called Eerie Indianna.

I was hoping they'd make another series of Taken but if they did they didn't tell me :(

The Abyss is awesome, love that movie soo much (james cameron did have a thing for Michael Biehn though didn't he lol)

aaaaah i love x-files, i've heard 4400 is amazing also try watching something called Supernatural (a bit predictable at times but good fun!)

or Kingdom Hospital if you are looking for a more freaky sci-fi/horror/weird thing :)

Fringe! It's like X-Files, but about a million times better!

wiki said:
Fringe is an American science fiction television series co-created by J. J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci. The series follows an FBI Fringe Division team based in Boston, Massachusetts under the supervision of Homeland Security. The team uses unorthodox "fringe" science and FBI investigative techniques to investigate "the Pattern", a series of unexplained, often ghastly occurrences which are occurring all over the world. The show has been described as a cross between The X-Files, Altered States, The Twilight Zone, and Dark Angel.[1][2]

True Blood, it's more supernatural than sci-fi but much better than any of the shows suggested IMO. Fringe is okay, but not a patch on the x-files, millenium was awful. Firefly is brilliant but only one season, and mroe full on space sci-fi than mysterious sci-fi. I thought the 4400 was a really poor x-files rehash.

Oh and as for "The Day the Earth Stood Still" the original is great, the Keanu remake is meh.

Space: Above and Beyond

Only ran for 1 season, and ends in a semi-open ending which is slightly annoying, but imo it was very good.

Yeah excellent series. I'd also suggest First Wave (dated now), and Battlestar Galactica (new), also can't reccomend Alien Nation highly enough :)

Aliens? Conspiracies?

Can't believe noone has mentioned Dark Skies yet!

First line of Wikipedia said:
Dark Skies is a government UFO conspiracy theory-based sci-fi drama television series

Edit: It's probably the cookie worthy one Ezteq mentions above.

Problem is that it is another great sci-fi series that never saw a conclusion. Jeri Ryan was super hot in it as well.

I would Second/Third/Fourth Dark Skies as well. Unfortunately didn't get an ending but they did a nice job integrating it with actual historical events such as the JFK Assassination.
