Accidents. In the same way stunt men sometimes get injured.

I thought I read somewhere that wwf had to admit to it being entertainment and not sport, something to do with taxes.
Doesn't that mean they whole thing is rehearsed?
OK so some people get injured when things go wrong.

The whole thing is pure hype. Personaly I find it a bit boring and very Yankized.

Okay when i pointed out the injuries i was just trying to show its not pianless.

Its not fake, the punches connect they just have no power, some moves do hurt a lot. Lots of the suplexes are lethal if mis timed for a second. The matches are not reheresed, they are called by the referee and the wrestlers during the match.

Its classed as entertainment, if it was classed as a sport it would be subject to many law and rule that would cost the wrestling business too much.

Saying its all staged is talking shit Embattle, saying its all real is also talking shit.

Its not easy what some of these guys do, and its definetly not the pushing each other around a bit wrestling of the late 80's.

If you dont watch it or dont know anything (factual) about it or just cant enjoy it then you should not comment. Or if you do comment dont made wide sweeping generalisations that are untrue.

I agree with most of that too, a few more things too add tho:

1)All the punches suck, most of them don't connect, and they don't hurt if they do.

2)It's not fake, it's fixed, there's a difference.

3)The wrestlers take big bumps, and do get injured.

4)The bleeding. All the wrestlers wear wristbands, with small razorblades in. Whenever the time is right to bleed, they cut themselves. They usually cover there faces with their hands, or stick there head under the ring. but, Shane O Mac's bleeding was 100% real, the glass cut him.

Most the time but there is no way near the force of a real one. Oh and the definition of fake is http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=Fake.

Never said it was easy since it takes REAL muscle to lift some of these blokes...its just not real overall, another words the punches genuine http://www.dictionary.com/cgi-bin/dict.pl?term=real.

I used to watch it all the time with my m8 when I was younger but even then I knew it was just entertainment unlike him...who like MG seemed to be under the impression they are genuine punches. I just find it a joke nowadays and it doesn't impress me seeing the same old shit but now with boobs.

Real fighting...watch UF.

The shows are mainly directed at kids, hence if you look at the spectators in crowd they are little kids + their parents (and yes I know lots of adults watch it and not all shows are staged for kids) but the majority of merchandise is directed at kids.

So an average fan has a mental age of ten.

How ever I don't deny it takes skill and power, but it is also perdominantly about personality of the wrestlers.

fucking lol @ someguy, so well said :)

at the end of the day, WWF is choreographed. Yes, they do hurt themselves sometimes, but that's more due to accidents than the actual moves. Use your fucking brain, what would ACTUALLY really happen to someone if you did, for example, a "Stone Cold Stunner" on them?

Better yet, stand outside your average rough pub at chucking out time, and look at the damage that people do to each other even with half-arsed drunken punches and kicks. Now imagine what a 7 foot person would do to you, if he actually wanted to hurt you, if he picked you up by the throat and threw you into the floor. Ironically, I actually saw someone get battered over the back of the head with a wooden chair a couple of weeks back, and he was down until the ambulance arrived - so how exactly these guys get straight back up after being mashed with a metal one, I'm not quite sure. Unless, of course... ITS NOT REAL.

A great many of the "injuries" reported in the WWF are part of the storyline, and done to give the wrestlers time off to do stuff (usually endorsements), or to build up a story for a PPV.

Oh look it's another person (Stu-) that knows sweet fuck all about wrestling and is talking out of their arse. So I'll start this reply with the simple question

WHAT THE FUCK EXPERIENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT QUALIFYS YOU TO SAY WHATS REAL AND WHATS NOT ABOUT WRESTLING?

Lets get this straight right the fuck now, none of you ever have or ever will wrestle, if you fucking got into a ring with a amateur wrestler they'd have you fucking screaming in you loudest wimpy little girly voice within 10 seconds of you saying the sentence "Well this isn’t real so I cant get hurt"

Now to address your totally incorrect comments
  1. Wrestling isn't choreographed. The wrestlers go into a match and wrestle, it's done on the fly with the referee passing the chatter between the two wrestlers.
  2. Wrestling moves DO hurt. If they didn't why was a kid in the USA tried and convicted for killing his younger cousin by using a wrestling move on her. If they didn't why are all the wrestling federations obliged to have a "Don't do this at home" style section in their programs.
  3. Wrestling IS real. Yes you may have seen somebody get hit with a chair and get carried off but this once again shows your ignorance. Firstly they don’t use wooden chairs they use aluminium ones. This is because chairshots are designed so that they have the same impact that falling onto the canvas does. But don’t for a second think that chairshots aren’t real, if they weren’t I'd love to know how they get such an evil sound every time somebody takes one.
  4. Injuries ARE real. Once again your lack of knowledge about the business here shines through. Sometimes people are scripted out for a few months and an injury is used as an excuse. Notice however that when they do this that attention is Drawn to the fact that the person just got injured. When the injury is legitimate the commentators don't say anything because only the guy that got injured knows that he's hurt.
    [/list=1]

No wrestling isn't, in this context, a sport but anybody with an ounce of sense already knows that. The match outcomes may be scripted but that’s why it's sports entertainment.

To anybody who still doesn't think wrestling is real I suggest you go look up the NWA hammerlock association here in England and go along to one of their sessions. I'd love to see the instructor telling you to go and fuck off once you mention to him that his profession is a load of bullshit.

Just remember: Watching something on TV doesn't make you an expert so :upyours:

There is no doubt that if an argument is started the twats from #quake2.uk will always go jump on the bandwagon, flaming other people, and trying to make out that they are all correct.

Stu, Perplex - We dont care about your views on wrestling. Just cos u think you're all high and mighty it dont mean you should have to fucking disagree with whatever other people say. You do this on numerous occasions - disagreeing with whatever some1 says. Do us all a favour and pls pls pls shut you fucking mouths.

Stu - funny how you've read The Rock's bio yet u say u hate wrestling so much?

Wrestling is reheased no doubt about it. the two fighters meet a day or two before the match and discuss the fight with each other, what they will do, what sequences they will perform. Whilst in the ring they also improvise hence they talk to each other during fighting or talk to the referee to pas on the message to the other fighter. I know this as I know British Bulldog, my mum used to care for his mum, before they moved to America.

I have also read Mankind's and Rock's autobiographies and this confirms this. People will know this when Rock was discussing Wrestlemanina event egainst Stone Cold, they rehearsed the fight up to a week before, and made some very good sequences, including Rock kicking out of Stunner and Stone Cold kicking out of Rock Bottom, this had never been done before.

Yes the punches aren't real, yes they cut themselves, yes most moves are very safely done, but these guys are athletes and are putting their bodies at risk.

WWF is not something to take seriously it is basically a soap opera, we all know this, but it is great fun and I love it.

Can't be arsed to quote, but Mystic G, you said that a kid killed a younger kid by using a wrestling move on him. Not really suprising.

Yet if a kid can kill another kid, wouldn't a wrestler kill another wrestler. Oh no, cos the moves aren't real, they help each other out, who on earth would get back up while someones got their arms round you just to throw you to the ground again? Not me, I'd stay on the floor and continually kick the bloke in his legs till he got off of me. Wrestlers either have an IQ of 5 or the moves aren't real, or both (most likely both).

They however do probably hurt a bit (anything like that would, but not the kind of pain that the move should inflict).

Also the safety warnings are to stop them from getting sued, as you mentioned about the kid incident.

If I recall (from my wee youngen age) Power Rangers used to have a safety warning on the end of it - 'do not try any of these moves at home' yet I hardly think the Power Rangers are real.

When it comes down to it, Wrestling is Power Rangers trying to look real, for immature little twats who like to see predictable TV.

You think wrestling is the same as power rangers. ROFTLMAO I'm sorry but I now won't ever be able to take anything you say seriously again.
