Wu ji aka. The Promise (2005)

It's based on a fairytale, absolutely amazing cinematography and a good storyline
I wasn't expecting much from it being a flop in the cinema, but i was very pleasantly surprised.

It's not a traditional martial arts movie at all, being a fairytale reality is pretty much out the window (example being they fly at one point ), but well worth a watch.

if you are after a martial arts movie it is crap, but it never was intended to be one closer examples would be movies like The Brother's Grimm. Most the negative reviews i read were people saying how Hero, and House of Flying Daggers was better which is kind of stupid as it isn't even in the same genre
