for me i always let other plp roll, or there would be no point in them going..

Therein lies the problem...

If you have lots of friends / guildies in game they certainly should be prepared to help without anything in return for that action. The reason alot of people are comfortable and happy doing that is they know that later on when they need help most likely they will get it, so in effect tehy are getting something for it, even if its intangible goodwill still counts.

this is what i think about Artifact/artifacts Camping..

when u camp a Artifact u demand to get it cus u alone feel u earned it,
that aint rly true cus the encounter wont spawn with your name on it..
however if u ask for help with a Artifact and the ppl are in the same Area
and they say ok, the mob takes a few mins to kill and NO1 mention lottoin
i dont agree that everyone rolls.. then i can say the one "Camping"
or came to the encounter should have first rights to that Artifact..

and about helping others its just sad to see what some say
we do all play for the same Goals and EVERYONE profit on havin their realm m8s Toa´d cus they will also join up with u in frontiers against your own enermies in the game fightin for the same goals and so on...

dont get me wrong im not sayin every hib should start zergin every encounter, but helping players is a part of the game...

and if we stop doing that we wont get any new players in our realms cus
u cant expect new players to have loads of friends from start...

and if some wanna be arseholes then be it against Mids/albs
cus then even those helps our realm UNITE 4tehwiinn

IMO

The: ''I've Camped this encounter for 23456456 hours I have the right to get it'' is just plain bullshit, THEN DONT FUCKING CAMP AND WASTE YOUR OWN TIME THEN!? the first who pulled is the rightful owner... just my opinion...

I remember the one and only time I did pull an encounter infront of other people that where camping it.

It was you and it was mad scalars.

And I believe you had a different feeling when it was you sat there unable to pull till your friends arrived.

But hell im nice, and I kindly let you have it, even helped you do the encounter out of the kindness of my little elph heart :)

What's not to understand? When anyone asks they should say what the rules are, after all they are going to the effort of getting people of the right class etc

I see no problem with helping people get something and not lottoing, if they arent happy with that then their help is not required, after all no one is forcing them to take part.

My point is it's the asking that's important, if you don't jerk people around and make things clear, behave fairly then they are more willing to accept your rules.

The problem is no one owns a mob, whoever pulls first is legally in the right.

So, the people who want to do artis right there and then are lucky enough to find it up, some guy camping it for however long, they don't even speak to him, offer him credit, offer him a chance to lotto.

Then sometimes the guy camping it is being a right arse about it and your desire to be nice about it vanishes. <not directed at you but we all know this happens>

I don't care if the other guy is an arse about it, if he wants it then he can have it, I won't lower myself by arguing over the "legal" side of it but nor will he gain my help doing it. If someone is nice then it eases the conflict and I'll help no matter what, that's what asking is supposed to be about, whether you camped it or just turned up.

Ofc judging by your previous post it seems you have no problem with others pulling an arti from under your nose...right?

Obviously you do, or you wouldn't have hit the reply button ;)

I wrote it because I was clarifying my point, that when someone asks they should make it clear what the intentions are, not every raid in Hib is a FFA and guess what, people can accept that, just so long as you are fair and decent about it and not a total git.

I didn't misunderstand you, I even agree with you on some points, although mostly I've seen you posting whines about one thing or another and resigning yourself to not caring and asking why people QQ about it, make up your mind!

Had 3 bad experiences while "helping" random players with arti's, the greed factor is just rediculous with some people.

Most of the time it's ok, but i do remember one time at SoK running from RvR to help a guy coz he wanted another animist, was he grateful? Nope, he just started yelling at me for keeping him waiting :)

Once assembled a full group to help a very ungrateful champ get SoM, he bitched and moaned becuase we didnt have a mentalist and yelled at the tanks for being useless for the encounter so much that people just left, which made him bitch and moan a lot more, in the end he was left on his own having wasted 2 hours of 8 peoples time including his own.

Another fun one was Zahurs when we lacked a druid, a 47 druid said he would help as long as he could keep all the drops :)

Most times, like i say, the player is very grateful for the help and its gratifying to be able to help a nice player.
