zahurs ring = drops 1 in 10 times off a mob that pops twice a day and takes a full group to kill...

mad tales 3 = probably rarest scroll in daoc due to the mobs you need to farm to get it being scattered across typhons. About the same rate drop as Shades3 but much less common as its very hard to farm. I got my one of these after around 150 taur phosphorus (i think) in typhons. Best bet is to go on a deep volc raid and pray you win the lotto at the end. I've seen only 2 Mad3o3 drop on 4 ML7 raids tho - in contrast to around 5 Shades 3o3.

GL getting either tbh, 30+p for ring IF you find someone to sell, and 10+p if you buy Mad3 from someone who knows what its worth and how many people want it.

Drops more like 1/20. Pops more like 6 times a day. Easily killable with 4. (Doesn't make it more common, but :p)

Heard the drop rate was 1 in 50 personally hehe. Doesn't matter though, is still dang annoying to get hold of :( Next patch it's a 1 in 3 drop rate though :D

heard that 2 . on us server its not so tuff to get mad tales scrolls
about the ring im not sure they will change the drop rate.
so if someone have mad tales scrolls in there vault waiting for the price will raise and want around 10p for it i guess its an idea to sell it before next patch . i have done zahur with some guildies a few times and got 2 rings but the lotto part of it ,isn´t my strong side :((

Seems half the server believes this now - but theres nothing to suggest its even remotely true.

Some random person posts 'I got it in 3 attempts' to a thread on VNboards, it was quoted (badly) in a few threads here and suddenly half the server believes the drop rate is going to be hugely improved. Its just luck - the same VN thread contains the expected number of '20 kills for me' etc that youd expect to see.

Haha good joke. Zahur's ring drops around 1/30 times. You have 2 of these rings in your template. Please try again...

you are nuts...they fixed his drop rate...out of 7 runs i've been on they've dropped 3 times.

either way that encounter is awesome for MLxp ~20% per run, you get a leg weap comp as well, and it's very easy.

Yeah Aussie, and random noobs on VNboards have such a great record for being right.

7 runs proves nothing other than a little luck. For every post saying drop rate has improved theres another with the usual '20 kills and 1 dropped' comment.

TEH Random Generator haven't been generous since we started farming Zahur, so my guess is that they improved the drop rate, but not even CLOSE to what we see on VN Boards. VN gimps always have some funneh tendencies to overdo things, exactly the way that we saw with SoM (if anyone cares to read 50 page's+)...

My guess is that Ring of Zahur, as it is now, drops 1-2 times within 50 try's. After 1.69 I hope it's lowered to 1 in 15-20 try's.

3 rings in 7 kills is not "luck" if droprate == what it is now.

With 2 chances to drop the ring each kill, if there were a 1/50 chance of the ring dropping, that's 1/7333 chance of getting (at least) 3 rings in 7 kills.
That's not so lucky to be ruled out and if chances were 1/20 per 'roll', that's only 1/240.
An isolated statement claiming '3 in 7 kills' is certainly not enough evidence to say the chance is 1/3 (or 1/6).

I'd be more inclined to believe 1/10 - 1/20.
