I know many people that go to ML10 raids because they need cash.
If it's not stated in the rules you can't roll for items in order to sell them then as long as you helped out I don't see any reason to flame the guy.

Allowing people to sell/trade items at the end of the day balances itself out, you get the value of items roughly equal to the number of raids you attend. You get something you don't need on raid A, you trade it for something someone else won they didn't need on raid B.

Simple economics dictates that if doesn't matter at the end of the day if you do class specific, only roll if you need it, or free for all flog it straight after. The only people who benefit from class specific are the people who play an unpopular class. Which means it's actually less fair on the majority of people only letting those who need it roll.

Please dont bad talk the guild becuase of 1 person doing something.
Then the GM's should take action to stop the specific person from doing what many deem wrong. If they dont it can be taken as that they support him and then it is fair to assume the entire guild would act the same way.

Yeah dont use the same brush on us all, and tbh Undy you know me better then that :p

if there was nothing in the rules about not selling lottoed stuff then he realy aint doing anything wrong, even if it is a bit selfish to do that.

You can't discipline someone for breaking an unwritten rule, so no matter how shitty it is, and I'd like to reinforce this point: how against Rigante ethics this is, we're not really in a position to do anything.

It is an unwritten rule that all bubbles raids are meant to have the rule "dont sell" unless stated else where.. This is because bubble believes in the fact that people that need the item should get it. Why the fuck would it be class specific loot if you were able to just sell it? Would be a straight FFA.

But hey, common sense aint something that alot of the community has so i really shouldnt be surprised at this!

I'm not arguing that running raids where only the people that need stuff lotto for it isn't right. But (especially with cluster where 50% of your potential participants have no idea who bubble is or what his raid rules consist of) flaming people for not following an UNWRITTEN rule, and calling them a retard for doing so is more lame than selling them item by a long shot imo.
I assume that when you rolled for an item you had submitted your template to a public forum so we could all see that you needed it right? If I have 10 alts, am I allowed to roll for 10 times more stuff than someone with one alt is?
There's lots of additional stuff involved in "roll for what you need for raids" in order to make it fair for everyone, and if that's not written in the post, then don't expect people to follow it.

If I turned up to a raid and the raid leader asked me not to roll for stuff to sell I wouldn't. If I turned up to a ml10 raid to try to get an item I could trade for another item I needed, and I think this is as valid a way of obtaining stuff as actually attending raids for the stuff you need, then people flamed me for doing something that wasn't specified against the rules, i'd be pissed as well. Unwritten rules only work if your doing raids with the same people over and over again. If someone new joins how exactly are they suppoed to know? On excal 80% of ML10 participants are after stuff to flog for cash, without them ML10 raids would probably fail.

Need before greed is a nice concept it really is, it also favours the lazy which is sort of against the premise of a computer game. The thing is it's a game so nobody actually needs anything. Need actually refers to you wanting something not needing something at all. Most people shouting about need before greed are actually those who stand to benefit from it. DAoC has no end as it were. If my goal ingame is to get 1 mithril (it isn't btw), and why shouldn't people be allowed to have that as a goal, then they need all the drops to sell to meet this? Of course your view of how the game should be played is greater than everyone elses I imagine.
