January 27th, 2005 for the europe version afaik.

US is out for a few weeks now.

both will be patched to the same version tho, so no hanging behind the US.

...or rather non you'll need. There's no buffbots in WoW like in DAoC, buffs are spread over the classes.

Imo there will be bbs in WoW cause there is always ppl that need a edge on others to wtfpwn .. Example : u got a assasin have some self buffs or whatever ! Hey there is a char that gives me more str think ill make it a bb... :eek:

I would guess that the shaman or healer could be classes as bb, if not for buffs then to shorten ure downtime?

think the downtime in WoW is a lot shorter than in DAoC. Buffs do help, but they don't have that huge impact, and they're timed.

There wont be any need for bb's in WoW tbh.. atleast not the first long time when ppl are getting to know the game. If you want that extra edge in combat, use potions, engeneering and other professions instead, because since all buffs are on a timer, it'll just not be worthwhile. About downtime, as Cylian said, it's loads shorter than in DAoC.. take mages.. they can create their own water and food (drink for mana/eat for hp), you can get fishing tradeskill which you eat for hp. So far highest char I had was 38, and there's practically no downtime, because hp regen increases as you lvl (and with the stat +spirit.. same goes for mana regen)

About farming, there wont be much you need to farm. If you need cash, you just use the auction house and put up drops you got during pve, or tradeskill items from e.g. mining or herb gathering. I think "farming" as we know it from DAoC wont exist in WoW as much, because drops are more random afaik.. any mob have a chance of dropping a stat item, but only few mobs are guaranteed.

Do quests to lvl and I assure you by doing so you'll find loads of stat drops on the mobs you need to kill or on the mobs that come in your way, which you can put for sale in auction hall. And since you'll also earn money from certain quests, you have to be a big spender not to earn decent coins through levelling, even after spending money on training.

Just FYI having a bot in WoW is a bannable offence, and come on guys, do you REALLY want another bot situation in WoW as it is in DAoC?

The characters are much more "beefed up" in WoW than they are in this game, you get along great without a bot.

I just hope there will be a non-retarded daoc players server. :wanker:

Ohwell, if i see anyone with a bot in WoW, i'll just get them banned.

And your bot wont be even close to buff you for the equal ammounts of buffs as they are in daoc, if you want to be fully buffed you will need more than 3 accounts

But then again ! Doesent matter if u got 1 or 100 buffs .. Still have the edge to win the fight ! am i right?

think all the buffs can be done with potions and other goodies just as well.
so you can either buy them for ingame money, or you spent irl money to safe ingame money.
But you don't gain any advantage someone with just 1 account can't get as far as I understood it.
Buffpots last 30min afaik.

I strongly disagree.. those edges are perfectly attainable through potions, engeneering and probably a few other things.

The people who use a bot will gain an incredibly small advantage because buffs have a much smaller impact on gameplay than in DAoC. You don't NEED buffs to have that extra edge in combat.. ofc they are nice, but you'll be perfectly able to play without em.

Stop focusing on bots, they're dead in WoW (atleast I hope so) - maybe a few wankers are gonna get one, but I'm sure they'll quickly realize that it's more of a burden than anything else.

they aren't as good as a a Buffbots,last only 10min, are very expensive and you can't get all of them by potions. Furthermore there's a reuse timer on them if I recall it right.

buff potions in DAoC are mostly useless.

Potions in WoW are easier accessable than in DAoC. If you chose the profession of Alchemy, you can make them earlier than in DAoC, and I even think there are merchants who sell certain potions. + same arguments Cyl gave

Gotta agree that i hope bots stay out of WoW.

However, in DAoC, the bot-problem, arrived after some months of play (IIRC), so it may (And I still hope it doesn't) arrive in WoW as well.

And i fear it tbh, as the mjority of DAoC-players will migrate to WoW, and take their habits with them...
