This is what you -can- find out about secret stuf going on in MMOs(or indeed other games), tip of the iceberg and as such, you shouldn't think too much about it as you'll just quit playing games altogether.

I think it's a bit irresponsible for them to have not used public key crypto on the data tbh, the account id and server ip seem useful for personalizing phishing attacks :/ Not that I care overly myself, not played wow in years.
