Let me remind you..PLing sucks arse. Not only do you miss alot of fun, you also miss alot of faction you gain from quests.
You can at higher lvls get quests only, if your known well of the quest givers faction. Same thing about you getting the -10% on stuff you buy.

Imo you just screw your char up by PLing...not that its hard to lvl it on your own through quests.

so far this is the worst thing about wow - having to pay more becuase u dont quest? what baout those of us like me who actually preffer to grind sometimes? no that doesnt mean i PL my chars, i just simply preffer to run around and fight mobs, find a nice camp for a level or whatever instead of "run to dun modr and talk 2 a midget" etc etc i find it boring after a while. i dont think i should be penalized at higher levels just because i didnt quest all the time. sometimes i just want 2 log on and kill some mobs without having to find 10 pendants then hurry back for a reward. questing is a good idea, alot of people like it, penalizing a char because it doesnt quest is a bad idea

I'm finding questing alot of fun, and its a great way to get to know the place. After running around daoc a million times its certainly strange to be in an unknown place...but alot of fun. The rewards for questing are quite nice too like the items you get to choose from, and a nice bit of coin too.

Also I definately don't wanna powerlevel, for me daoc went downhill after reaching 50 for the first time. Some of the magic goes after you've done it once. I'm taking my time.

I tried to help out a mate who started a while after me but I have found that the get mate to tag it then you kill it way doesnt work so well - if i did 80% of the damage he would get fractional xp.

He was a priest using smite to tag so there may be issues with the spell not 'tagging' the mobs properly.

You could PL on mobs that give faction hits tho.

You're not being penalized at all not doing quests, grinding is still the fastest way to lvl for most classes

I can see what you're saying but I think you've overlooked something... the fact you are grinding means you will have way more cash and loot, therefore the penalization isn't as bad as you think.

I've tried this many times. I dont work at all. You may get some exp, but the greater level difference, the less exp you get.

Also lowbie tagging and high level killing doesnt work either. It worked in beta, but now you get alot less exp when someone else does most of the dmg. Its cleverly done though, so you wont have that problem if someone equal level is helping you afaik.

Gimme a screen with level of lowbie and high level, mob you kill and exp and I'll belive you.

Blizzard ad thought of all that crap. Its so easy to fix. I mean, things noone even think about are fixed.

Eg. You can do a quest witch gives you a poisonous mushroom, so if you eat it you will get a small dot on yourself. And it dont disappear after use. Woo, this can be abused to get out of polymorph! But no, dem damn blizzard had already thought about it.

I can't see PL working on this game either. At 18 I was grouped (for a quest) with a 22, a 24 and a 25. I was averaging 25-50 exp per kill while we were hunting for drops killing these level 25-26 mobs.

Right after that I started to solo level 19-20 mobs and I was getting 150-200 per kill.

I think that the amount of xp you gain by killing mobs is devided by the number of players that are grouped. But PLing doesnt work. I was grped with a 6lvls lower char the other day and we were killing mobs at my lvl. The xp he got was much smaller than the xp another guy at my lvl got that we were xping together killing same mobs.
