If the price of a broadband type internet service (>100 Kps) was set at 20 USD for 24h access, would you use it?

The 24h access is to accommodate people with connecting flight that would have the same service. Would be interested to hear your views on pricing.

Took out the short haul option as it raises too many other questions.

$20 is far too much for me I would wait till i got to the other end and use free Internet at the Airport.

Well if I would pay that much for it, I'd make sure to be dl'ing pr0n for 24 hours atleast.

From a personal viewpoint, no, there are too many offline entertainment options to make 20usd worth it. Could be useful for business types however.

Depends on how long the flight would be. I'd pay it if I was taking a trip to the other side of the world Anything shorter and it would be too expensive :D

If I was in the unlikely position of flying halfway around the world, I'd load a 32GB microSD card with music, books and video and plug it into a phone or tablet for the journey. No need for internet when you can put a couple of weeks content on one card.

Since I've not flown in 23 years, I presume many seats have USB sockets for charging?

If work was paying, yes. If I was paying, fuck no (although I have paid stupid amounts in hotels in the past).

No, I'd see no need for such a short amount of time, as zenith pointed out you can entertain yourself just fine if you plan ahead.

Thanks for the input. I would prefer to see lower charges - 10 USD but they are pricing it based on common hotel charges for 24h access.

uber long haul...maybe. short haul, like DaGaffer says if workies was paying I'd not bat an eyelid. Otherwise, fuck that. An hours flight is a nice break tbh!

There are too few things I would bother to do on the internet to justify 20$, especially for short haul. Even more so if the interface is as shitty as I've seen on a lot of flights.

If frequent flyers could buy a "Net pass" with a subscription, I bet that'd take though.

Long haul yes, because i cant sleep on planes and 7/9 hour flight drives me insane with bordem. I struggle to watch the TV's in the headrests tbh, so if i could browse on my tablet then it would help

It would need a charge point, and i haven't seen one on the last few flights i have been on (well not in cattle class anyway)

Although thinking about what Zenith said about loading up a stick could probably work, a few films and music would pass the time
