I dunno - at least he is trying. Me - I been trying for bloody ages. I love webdesigning cos you overcome problems but my website designing skills totally suck in the 'attractive' department. I on the verge of packing it all in and making a personal and 'nice' site only. Anyone that is a trier is ok in my books however bad the design - *hic*.

I mean take a look at my site. It scares me! Eh why? Is the way you design a website a reflection of you in some way? In what way? So my website is cold and efficient - am I the same? Well I think maybe I am which is not a good thing at all - no sensitivity. Lets face it your website is a reflection of you for sure.

He has a poster which states Free your burning desier.

Which is nice.

Alse a lot of click-through links, and nothing of worth in the portfolio. I can't believe I spent that long looking tbh.

Thank you all comments are welcome on Darrell's designs.Com, But let me add my comment, Maljonic you need to spend more time on your code rather then posting comments.
List of Sites checked by http://validator.w3.org/
http://www.dream-dating.org/ 171 errors
http://www.planet-surveyor.com/ 129 errors
http://www.transdniestria.com/ 23 errors
http://www.arabian-nights.org/ 22 errors
http://www.maljonicsdreams.com/ 1 error (wow) getting better.
You can add a validator to your site here's the code:
Code:
<form method="get" action="http://validator.w3.org/check">
<input name="uri" value="http://" size="42">
<input type="submit" onclick="target='_blank'" onkeypress="target='_blank'" value="Check URL"></form>

Shovel all you need to fix on your site is 2 errors.
(1) Line 83 column 113: required attribute "alt" not specified.
.../splashes/nascentguruism.splash.png"/></
(2) Line 194 column 7: document type does not allow element "ul" here; missing one of "object", "applet", "map", "iframe", "button", "ins", "del" start-tag.
<ul>
The mentioned element is not allowed to appear in the context in which you've placed it; the other mentioned elements are the only ones that are both allowed there and can contain the element mentioned. This might mean that you need a containing element, or possibly that you've forgotten to close a previous element.

One possible cause for this message is that you have attempted to put a block-level element (such as "<p>" or "<table>") inside an inline element (such as "<a>", "<span>", or "<font>").

Heh, good job he's here!

Im sure we can all write a page that has no errors but sadly that doesnt make it look any good.

A massive page of large blue text doesn't do it for me.

who the hell cares if you have a few warnings in your code - as long as it looks how it's meant to and does what it's meant to do in the main 4 browsers no one gives a flying fuck.

I'M instead of IM is not spelling you spack - its punctuation

Punctuation :

Success just didn't happen you make it happen

Strange, I was posting in your defence. Shan't bother again. You should realise that there are are a number of factors in building a quality website beyond validation.

Maljonic, this does rather underpin why flaimbaiting about other people's work is a really disrespectful thing to do. A quick Google for your own domain name shows up where people have been talking about you. Sure, Darrell's site has a lot of flaws and he's got a lot he needs to learn if he's willing, but you're in the a pretty similar learning stage as well.

Thread closure please moderator?

Okay, but how else are you supposed to make critiques of people's websites if you don't link to them? My first post didn't actually say anything bad about the site, though obviously it's implied by the title of the thread. I don't know anything about the guy, I can't even remember how I found his site, but the first thing I thought was how incredibly aweful it looked at a first glance, so bad that I thought it might be a piss take or something. I wondered if anyone else felt the same or if it was just me.

If someone writes about one of my sites and says it looks shit, which they have in the past, I'm mature enough to take on board what's been said and ask how it could be better, or look into ways to make it better myself. I certainly don't go, 'Well I think your site is crap too, so nyar nyar nyar...'

This forum is concerned with web development so one would expect to see some sites beiong put down for bad design, as well as sites being praised for good design... and furthermore, sites being praised for improvment.

I didn't think posting such a thing in a web design forum is baiting, it's just discussion.

Anyway, darrelld, I'm sorry if I upset you, it's only my opinion after all so don't be too bothered by it - I'm far from being an expert myself, I just didn't like the look of your site's colors and text really; I never got as far as looking at your grammar, code or any other stuff, which are things that can be fixed any time as you go along. I just happen to think the way a site looks to a normal, none designing, visitor is very important - especially if you're in the business of selling your ideas to these people?

Once again sorry, and good luck with everything. :)

No need to apologize Maljonic for all input on my site is welcome, like you said how it's just discussion. We can learn from criticism, I'm a beginner to Web Design, 4 months in to it.
This page will tell my story Darrell's Blog

wow, this thread keeps going

DD, you site is really hard to read, maybe you should spread the sections out about, or at least make the heading's more distinct from the rest of the text

PS hey kids... i'm back, finally got the internets at my new abode

PPS underlines in webpages make baby jesus cry, it makes everything look like links
