worth to come back to daoc ?

Hey there, I left Daoc back when SI whas around, and am thinking of returning now, I have no characters left (gave account away back then)
But I am wondering, is it still worth it to come back ? Especialy considering "will there be any normal groups around still or does everyone has their own buffbot group ?

As you don't have any characters left, levelling 1 - 20 might be annoying due to lack of groups due to /level, but you can always killtask. I just levelled a character the old fashioned way and found grouping possible at 20-40 provided you play reasonably sociable hours. 40+ groups are still about. Note that all of the above applies to alb/excal., not sure what the situation is on other servers.

Another thing to bear in mind is that the new expansion, Trials of Atlantis, has added a lot to the PvE endgame, so even when you get 50 you will have more to do if you want *everything* - but its mostly good fun if you like your PvE. You want to find yourself a good guild to get the most out of it.

Regarding RvR, you really need a character with some ToA stuff and spellcraft, and buffs from somewhere, to compete effectively in a group at present. However the RvR expansion New Frontiers is getting closer, and should make RvR more accessible to less than uber characters.

Hope that helps you decide - its still possible, but there is a greater time commitment after getting 50 than in SI. Good luck if you decide to return.

Because daoc lacked highend pve content, wich it now seems to have with Toa

Just hope it wont be a waste especialy considering buying a new gold box costs me like 50 euro (maybe 100 if i want a buffbot)

If its high end PvE you were after then ToA will suit you down to the ground, both the artifact quests and master level encounters.

Buffbots are generaly not needed for PvE unless you intend to solo, If you plan on getting into RvR at a later date, and play a solo class (stealther) then yup, gona be better of with a bot too.

Ok going back to daoc managed to convince 2 friends to come back aswell so we have a 3 man party usualy, now just to see what classes/realm hmm

If there are three of you, just pick three characters that'll work well even if you have no-one else, and it'll work fine.

Started a three man Alb group with Friar, Paladin and Armsman, and it's working lovely. Wizard, Scout and Minstrel also working well.

we are thinking of playing albion/excal then a pally/cleric/wizzy should be a nice combo pally for aggro keeping, cleric for heals/buffs and the wizzy for the damage

I've still got 2 lvl 50's on Hibs/excal.

I did leave for swg.. but got bored of it.. and i've already got ToA and a druid at ML1

no don't do it even say go to mid rather than alb i know they say grass is green on the other side ...well it is ih hib and the 18th hole looks tremendous in the spring

Heh maybe later mate i kinda like alb's landscape
Only bummer though is that the classes are not really multiskilled (as hib ones are) ie my pally is more or less only good for tanking but thats it :/

Just a note, if you have had lvl 50 characters, then your account is flagged as viable for /level command, whether or not you delete your chars later does not affect this flag afaik. So someone with deleted 50 chars on an account should still be able to do /level on return/reactivate.

only if he logged on one of those 50 after the /level was introduced... if he quite before that it wont help..

Heh indeed , wouldnt be really fair to ask it back after roughly 1 year of being away . lvl 17 paladin now hard to find groups at low lvls still it seems even though there are quite alot of 20-25 etc around.
