The electorate were not polarised towards any of the two candidates (hence the "who won" debacle), and the international community are currently picking on America someting chronic.

Ignoring all of this, Bush ploughs ahead with yet more unpopular new initiatives (star wars, no aid for countries that perform abortions, kyoto, etc.).

I feel that in a year or two the American public are going to be sick of large corporations affecting policy decisions, and Bush will find his popularity dropping to a spectacular low.

I saw some of those pics in an email just after he was elected. Then reading the BBC web site I'd occasionally see pics of him. I commented to my other half how the Beeb keep chosing pics that make him look like a chimp, and she said "no no, he actually DOES look like a chimp". Sterling web site, good work fellah!

I kind of agree with frankie in some sense, the people of the US of A (united states of arrogance) have to pay fuck for anything and get payed a packet so liveing quality might be higher. But i would not trade my house in good ol blighty for some yank house simply because i love where i live. I am also sure that americans wouldnt want to move to the UK because they love where they live, and i am sure people from 3rd world countries wouldnt want to live in the UK... oh shit they already do.

I have seen these "my country is better than yours" threads on lots of forums and they are all pointless. Who gives a shit where people live, what people get payed, as long as they are happy. (not saying Embattle started this thread as a "my country is better than yours thread")

What you seem to be missing is they're a country that has a big effect on the world...25% of all greenhouse gases come from the USA so when they don't sign kyoto and expect us to get on side with the missle defence system its taking the piss.
