My biggest concern about the PvP servers is that with only two realms, it'll be too easy for one to dominate. DAoC reduces that by having three realms, making it harder for one realm to have >50% population and dominate (especially in Europe, it seems).

I can easily see Horde or Alliance becoming no go areas on some servers, except perhaps if you are a professional RvR guild wanting lots of enemies. Like come DAoC servers, only more so.

Daoc PvP is the best any mmorpg has seen
Compair it to the other major ones- EQ, UO, AO etc

as most people said its stupid to comment on something you havn't tried ;o... daoc rvr has been in development for so long, and this is what it has come to. NF. (which i think is really sad :(:(:() you should have played pvp server instead and then comment on it... as remisk said. Its like comparing prydwen rvr when you've only tried /duel ;o

i didnt really figure out the difference between PvP server and normal server in WoW tbh, the PvP server is nothing at all like camlann (where you login, get killed by someone 20 levels higher than you, log out), here you can level pretty peacefully until you decide to head out into the big bad world (full of big bad gorillas, or at least booty bay area is :p)

i vastly prefered WoW pvp over DAoC pvp, simply because i stand about 1/100 chance of winning a fight in DAoC in wow its more like 50/50 (if its similar level anyway) :D

there appears to be much less emphasis on items too (or so it seemed to me) i wore pretty low level armor and managed fine against characters similar to my level, once characters start hitting 60 though i suppose you will get the "uber" people with all the "uber" items or whatever but that doesnt really bother me a great deal, as long as they dont force me to get the "uber" items to stand a chance to compete (which hopefully wont happy with raids like seen in beta rather than 5 man groups roaming) then i couldnt give a crap :D]

oh and while this thread focuses on PvP i have to mention the pve is pretty enjoyable too (and no i never found daoc pve particularly enjoyable), it gives a lot of different quests that seem to encourage exploration, and teaming, the ability to "share" quests is great if someone you are grouped with hasnt got the quest you are working on, this allows you to work together without the other person having to travel miles to get it :p

My god Sko. WoW PvP reward system hasn't been implemented yet. It works similar to DAoC (Honor instead of RP's).

WoW PvP:

More balanced than DAoC despite being in beta.
More fast-paced, fun, new, refreshing.
Casters don't cast quicker than their animations.
No buffbots.
You can solo.

DAoC PvP:

Mezzed, You are hit by Remisk for 1105 damage.
Bonedancers....
Stale, boring. zz...zzzz
