I can still see them failing to move out of the group stages. For all the pretty football (and it is a joy to watch at times) they should have demolished Honduras. Chile won't be a walk over and they must win. Even if they do win, then they still need to beat them by 1 more goal than the Swiss beat Honduras.

So far,
Spain 2 goals scored +1 GD
Swiss 1 goal scored 0 GD

If the Swiss win by 2 nil and Spain only win 1 nil then I think the Swiss go through because they beat Spain (I think that's the rule) same goal difference, same amount of goals scored. Though obviously if Spain lose or only manage a draw vs Chile and the Swiss win then its game over or if they both lose but Spain by more goals its also game over, which also means Spain could potentially finish bottom of the group.

And then there is the fact that if they finish 2nd in the group they have to face Brazil in the next round. Its going to be bloody tough for Spain over the next couple of games.

If they can get out of the group and then beat Brazil I can see them winning the world cup.

Spain can even make it throu group stages even if they lose vs Chile. Honduras would need to win vs Swiss too.

Spain will be group leader if:
- Spain wins vs Chile, and Swiss loses vs Honduras
- Spain wins vs Chile, and Swiss wins vs Honduras but scoring one less goal than Spain (e.g 2-0 and 1-0)

Spain will be second of its group if:
- Spain wins vs Chile and Swiss wins vs Honduras scoring one more goal than Spain.
- Spain ties vs Chile, and Swiss loses vs Honduras
- Spain ties vs Chile, and Swiss ties vs Honduras
- Spain loses vs Chile just by one goal, and Swiss loses vs Honduras
