Yes, lets create a button where melee people can do damage when they get close enough to a target.

Get real.

I think it's supposed to read like this:

I hate to see Mids and Hibs working together in the Frontiers, it's awful. There should be something done about it, maybe a spell that is permanently on for all classes that automatically inflicts damage on an enemy player when you get close to them

Badly written, bad idea to fix it, but a very good concern.

I would suggest something along the lines of:

If subject X(midgard player as an example) and subject Y(hibernia player) are in a non-combat mode(no battles have ensued) and in XXX range of eachother for a XXX period of time, both player enter a "forced battle". In other words, /face /stick /attack.

Or something.

If it's badly written doesn't make it a bad idea.

Oh my, you guys are just so welcome and freindly to new people, you don't drown them in vitriol, shamlessly make fun, or humilate people at all do you.

English may not be their first language, a little patience and sometimes friendliness doesn't go amiss.

wow, think about all the forced fights between assasins.
they cant see eachother and if they both camp a bridge waiting for kills the suddenly they pop out of steath

wouldnt that be a surprise?

I don't think people were that bad. Most just asked what he was talking about, perhaps asking for a little bit of explanation. Poor english wasn't an issue of partripping here.

And it's the internet, we don't cuddle kittens here, we all accept it :D

EDIT:

Heh, well, guess it needs a bit of finetuning but you get the point :D

Though not bad idea in itself, these days it's like:

Midstealth: Ladadii...hohum...kinda boring here...just wait and...
Hibstealth: ...look if some middie comes along and...
Albstealth: ...just happens to pass my field of sight....
Mid,hib, alb stealth: *sigh*
Mid,hib, alb stealth: What was that?
Mid,hib, alb stealth: Hmm...probably nothing...

<grin> Really?
Where I come from politeness and manners are prized in all casual encounters, yes it is the intertnet and maybe no one deserves your resepct or consideration.
But then I remember these people all play a MMORPG, where people pay monthly to play in effect with people who see fit to treat others this way.
It makes me feel sick to my stomach.

I agree something needs to be done, but I don't think a 'crossrealming detection code' would be practical, there would be so many (even if rare) legitimate exceptions to any basic code that it would end up catching out many people who weren't intending to crossrealm at all. As a result, the code would need to be extremely complex and specific, to the extent that people could easily get around it. The only way practical way IMO is for devs to personally monitor it based on reports, the same way they deal with radar users, and then dish out short-term bans to the worst offenders.

I also belive the situation will get better if pryd/excal are clustered, as the dominant realm on pryd is the hibs. Granted, the number of players on pryd in't enough to make up the balance, so albs will still be the zerg realm; but hopefully it will make up the balance enough so many players won't feel the 'need' to crossrealm any longer.

...Although it would be quite hilarious to watch a hapless SM dragged into a staff vs sword duel with a blademaster :)

Kitty, not to sound offensive or anything, but maybe you take this a bit too harshly. The comments from people arn't that bad. Their quite non-offensive then what's the norm on forums usually.

This might have ofcourse just been the thread that broke your camels back and i'm not saying your wrong. You do have to agree that the initial post is quite uninformative on what he was trying to say, hensh peoples "wtf you talking bout" comments.

my original comment simply was to point out that I couldn't understand what he was on about! And it's true, it was complete jibberish.

Part of the game is to pick who you want to fight and who not to. The other day I was camping alb poc, a shaman comes in, i'm about to go for the kill, while he starts emotes, nothing offensive mind you. So I just play around with him, power drain, debuff etc. At that point an alb walks in and I kill him. Obviously that alb will go on and talk about a conspiracy theory or whatever.

There are and always be some people I choose not to kill, you can't force me to!

Ofcourse we could have a collaborator rating on players. Same as i stated before, too much time around enemy realms without fighting and your rating goes down. Then your realmies can see that your a hibbie hugger :p
