For some reason the word 'plinth' always raises a smile from me. A very strange word.

For place names, I drove through a place called Lower Dicker last week. I presume there is an Upper Dicker around there somewhere too.

St Bedes,
The Dicker
Upper Dicker,
nr Hailsham.
this was in Sussex though.

and I always thought the Dundonian expression was
five pies four bridies and an onion one aswell.

And what is it with geordies pronouncing photocopier, my poor son spends half his time when we are up in Aberdeen saying Photocopier for his aunts, uncles, cousins and grandma ????
