Mandelsons in the pocket of big business so it's no surprise.

Can we have an election and throw labour out already?

There was an MP committee report that blamed the music industry out recently. I cant find a link to it though.

Nice to see an ISP on the side of us lowly customers (although having to police connections would cost the ISP's a fortune under the governments current scheme)

That cost would be passed straight on to the customer so broadband costs would rocket.

I also regard the broadband tax as the thin end of the wedge and expect to see the government gradually increase this until it is the equivilent of the tobacco or fuel taxes.

ISPs stand point is purely from the side of costs, thus being on the side of the consumer suits them for the time being.

And tbh they would be the poor buggers having to administer this nonsense - its not just cost but being sued by your customers wouldnt be much fun for them.

Heh, I just moved house and discovered I can connect to 4 unsecure wireless networks just from my living room.
One of them is even a hotspot from one of the biggests ISP's over here.
Due to their incompetence I now have unlimited traffic (there is no unmetered downloads in Belgium) :D

Anyway... no way they can enforce this. When you get a warning you pretend your wireless was "hacked" and appeal.
How are they going to prove otherwise?
