Just drove home from work on my motorbike with atleast 3 inches of snow on the ground and more falling all the way! It was the first time I'd ever ridden in the snow - even after 3 years of riding and I was pretty nervous!
The bike was slipping all over the place, snow was constantly covering my visor - had to drive one handed half of the journey - one hand on the throttle and one hand doing crazy window-wiper motions to keep it so I could see!
When I went around corners I had to use both hands, and by the time I was half way around most of them I was almost completely blind!
The worrying thing is I was giggling like a schoolgirl the whole way, and at times I was headbanging to the music I had playing in one earphone
think it was just nerves, think I'm half still running on adrenaline because I almost feel like I want to get back on the bike and go somewhere!
A couple of times lorries went past in the other lane and the whole bike slipped sideways across the road as they blasted me with ice and stuff !
Cant get over how lucky I am I didnt fall off - it wasnt all that bad when I first got on the bike but it rapidly got worse and within 10 minutes it was just madness!
Just had to type this out to tell someone! Share your mad travelling-in-bad weather stories here!
